this is probably gonna sound really stupid but here it goes, I'm eighteen and I've recently become fascinated with every thing that has to do with sport motorcycles and what it takes to ride them and become a good rider and i am more than willing to spend the time, and do whatever it takes to develop the skills needed to become a good rider. I plan on taking every safety and training course i can go to. I don't want a motorcycle to dick around on or impress my friends, I want one because I think they're beautiful machines, I'm fascinated and intrigued by the and I have so much respect for the people who ride them well. And i just wanted some opinions from people who actually ride, on which bike would be better for someone who is ready to be completely dedicated to learning to ride well, the yamaha r6 or the honda cbr600rr. im talking everything about them, handling, acceleration, braking, comfort, etc...Anything at all would be greatly greatly appreciated!

I don't like braids and I don't want to wear a bandanna. When we get off the bike at a party or whatever I still want to wear my hair down. Any other suggestions?

I recently inherited this little go-machine from my grandpa, and I LOVE it! Of course, it has a few kinks to work out.
My main problem is the carburetor for the right cylinder. Either it's not letting enough air through or it's mixing in too much fuel. I want to try to take it apart, but I also don't want to break anything!
Does anyone know where I could maybe find info on this? I can find a parts guide, but no repair manual of any kind.
Also, if anyone has done this kind of work on this motorcycle or a similar one, that would help as well. The engine is a Yamaha 247cc. 2-stroke.
Thanks very much!

I have a YAMAHA Radian, that is having some Carb issues, I live at an Eleveation of about 5000 ft, the float height is set to 21 mm of the gasket surface, and it runs great high in the RPMs, but sometimes I had to double clutch it to get it off the line. So I made sure the carbs where clean, rechecked the floats, and ran it, and same thing. So I checked the plugs and they were sooty, so I leaned the fuel screws by 1/8th of a turn, and now it pops, like it is backfiring, and it is now running lean. The hesitation is better but still there a little. I don't want to go to much leaner, and if I do, the poping gets worse.
Help... Carbs are stock, encgine is stock other that it just had new gaskets installed, and I am running a K&N filter.

I have a 1988 Intruder VS 1400. I've had a lot of electrical gremlins and I'm still working them out. Right now the bike won't start or even try to start. I have bypassed the clutch switch. The "kill" switch is working. I had the battery load tested and everything is said to be okay. And I just put a new starter relay on. When I try to start the bike, I just here a click from the relays under the seat. There is no cranking of the engine. I assumed it was the starter relay, but after installing the new one the problem persists. If i "jump" the starter relay the bike will turn and fire and run, but I just can't get it to start on it's own. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

this is not an advert, more a survey - I want to know whether there's any interest out there :)

I own a motorbike - CZ 125cc, 4 speed transmission, year 1964 - a proper veteran amongst East Europe bikes. more info here:

http://www.100megsfree3.com/ahrmanw/CZmx.htm

it's a bit rusty here and there, but still works. A very nice piece to have if you're into veteran / vintage bikes.

So, the question - would you buy it & how much are you willing to spend?

Please no £1 offers or similar :).

thanks!

I'm having trouble lining -up the starter with the c-clip attached, I finally gave-up and installed it without the c-clip, what will happen if I leave it out. I'm doing other repairs on the bike and I have'nt try to start it yet. Is there something I should know about this before I do ?

Once I've compiled the components and fitted everything, can I get out of this project for under $10,000 if I do most of the work myself? I've been a sportsbike rider most of my adult life and can't seem to justify spending $20-25,000 on a new one, at least from the performance angle. If I can make this happen for approximately the same price of a new superbike, I'll go for it.

And what are the disadvantages besides the risk of falling.
What about insurance $ ?
What about people who have bach problems? Can u get a sports bike and ride it with a straight back, not having to bend it? in other words keep a good posture?
What about maintenance annually $ ?

I ride a ducati 748 and wave to every biker I see. I think the passing wave is a nice gesture of respect between bikers. So why do these guys become a!@#oles when they throw there leg over there harley knock-off. As far as I'm concerned we are all bikers regardless of the bike under you.
