the top speed should be in your manual. it should be around 160-170. i ride a ninja 636. im 18. now your saying wow an 18 yr old on a crotch rocket. my bike has seen 165. when i say seen im talking about ripping down I-85 at midnight doing 165. the bike is fast just be sure you know when to and when not to use it.

Top Speed? Which year?
1999-2002 , top speeds were about 140-150 mph
2003-2005 models top speeds could reach about 160 mph
2006 - i haven't ridden one to find out ^_^
Personally, I've only hit 135 as my top on a 2005 R6 (fully stock)

i got my 03 R6 up to 157mph pinned. My new R6 isn't broke in yet so i dont know yet. Usually between 155-160 range depending on the bike and the conditions.

The speed listed as top were from 160 to 165mph depending on the model and year of manufacture. I
suspect by what was said on the site those bikes
can go a lot faster than the official top speed.

I got my 2003 Yamaha R6 up to 316 km/hr briefly for about 5 sec or so. I did it in 2003. I got pulled over 5 min later when I brought it down to 140 km/hr. Funny thing is nobody believes me. Everyone calls me out, they re like nope not possible. Whatever, I did it, I know I got it up to that briefly. Getting it to 280 or 290 is easy. You ask Yamaha and they ll tell you something dumb like 260 km/hr. You can t pull this off on a track, not long enough. Has to be a decent highway very straight and absolutely no vehicles. Like 2am kind of thing. I don t recommend it, it s scary as hell. Dumb stuff I did in my youth.

See what a lot of people dont know is that not only is yamahas r3 r6 and r1 only top speed tested on tracks but they are tested only at the recomended rpm ranges for the gears and if you own one like me I have the 2015 r1m and yes it has nos and engine upgrades but when it was stock I redlined every gear yes all the gears REDLINED and omfg I bout died when I hit 234mph on one wheel (the back one for dummies) at 18000rpm

I have a 07 yahmaha R6 and today I got it up to 171 and it still had some left!
