I ride a ducati 748 and wave to every biker I see. I think the passing wave is a nice gesture of respect between bikers. So why do these guys become a!@#oles when they throw there leg over there harley knock-off. As far as I'm concerned we are all bikers regardless of the bike under you.

I always give a wave to fellow riders, I have notice that H-D owners don't give us Metric Cruisers the friendly wave.

I ride a cruiser and wave anyone on a bike, maybe not mopeds though. At rallies its kinda hard to wave, you just assume. Sometimes ill be riding and another biker waves at me but I might be down or up shifting and not able to wave, or if Im on most roads with traffic I tend to be paying more attention to the cars than if a biker is riding by and waveing.

Some new riders, sunny day to the beach week-end warriors and once-a-year bike rally attenders, don't know of biker etiquette. Don't give it another thought and keep waving.
When I first started riding in the street many years ago, I never knew about "the wave". But I learned.

I wave at every other bike. Even scooters. Even mopeds. Even when I'm not on my bike I find myself waving.
It's just a friendly gesture, and some people just aren't friendly. Those are the same people who let doors slam behind them in someone else's face. They're the ones that return nothing when a stranger says "hello".
Or maybe they aren't good riders & can't afford to think about waving while riding?

I ride all kinds of bikes and I have to say the whole waving thing just irritates me. I'm a friendly guy and will talk bikes with anybody I see but after about 3-waves I'm done for the day with all the waving.

I don't care what you ride. I'm happy for you. I just don't usually wave.

PS: When I'm in my cage I don't wave at other cagers either but they don't seem to care. That's how riders need to be too.

Cruiser riders don't think sport bikers wave so they're not looking for it. Also, its been my experience that sport bikers, generally, keep their hands near the grip when they wave, I guess because of the riding position. Perhaps other riders just don't recognize it as a wave.

Can't answer for the cruiser guys, but sometimes I don't notice motorcyclists waving in the opposite direction and by then its too late, or I am using the clutch. I also don't wave if I am going very fast. :)

But I wave to everyone- cruisers, sportbikes, even those goofy goldwings.

But not those pansy-*** scooters. If you don't got a clutch or a motorcycle endorsement on your license, you don't get a wave. =p

Oddly enough here in northern MN it's the opposite. Rarely do you get a wave from a crotch rocket rider. Have a great day and keep waving, it's like smiling it makes another person's day.

I am with you, and it goes both ways. I've ridden a long time on all types (current CBR) and see many dopes out there. But there are many that think the same and will return the wave, they are out there for the ride also. The ones that don't wave, are not worth the effort.

I'm with you, I have both, a CBR954RR and an HD Deuce. I wave no matter which ride I'm on. However, I'll tell you that I get it the other way too.

I'm sick of all these idiots thinking that they are better because of what they ride instead of THAT they ride.

For all you idiots that think one bike manufacturer is better than another, F you. All bikes have good and bad points. No different than the Ford vs. Chevy vs. Toyota idiots. Like what you like, no need to bash what someone else likes or has.

You are a biker; they are overpaid, middle-aged biker wannabes who can't ride worth a crap and think that their shiny penis-replacements make them worth something.

But you have to give the benefit of the doubt sometimes. When I'm paying attention to traffic, I usually don't see another rider until they're just going by and don't have time to wave. Nothing personal.

Keep waving anyway.
