this is not an advert, more a survey - I want to know whether there's any interest out there :)

I own a motorbike - CZ 125cc, 4 speed transmission, year 1964 - a proper veteran amongst East Europe bikes. more info here:

http://www.100megsfree3.com/ahrmanw/CZmx.htm

it's a bit rusty here and there, but still works. A very nice piece to have if you're into veteran / vintage bikes.

So, the question - would you buy it & how much are you willing to spend?

Please no £1 offers or similar :).

thanks!

Gotta agree - the entire CZ range was always deeply unpopular in this country, apart from those people in the very, very small CZ Owners Club.

They were slow, unreliable, poorly made and had no charm or charisma whatsoever (the bikes that is - can't say about the owners club...). You may get some-one offering to buy it for spares, but it's honestly worth very, very little. There is no such thing as a 'collectable' CZ, I'm afraid.

Hi, a CZ of that year will not bring any value, there are 1000s of them around, sadly most end up being bought for spares
They were cheap to buy ,cheap to run,you can sill get hold of new ones,
The only question i would ask is,,
What is (if any) the name stamped on the side of the engine
if the name JAWA is there then someone may want to use it for spares

I've had two of these, back in the seventies. The good thing about them is they're easy to maintain, but think you might have trouble getting spares now. One of them only cost me fifty quid, and it kept me going for quite some time. I would not be interested in buying another one, as I have a car, unless it was really cheap and in good condition.

Not if it was the last machine on earth ... when i was young i had a similar machine which i just rode in the fields , it was the MZ TS150 Eagle . It was surprisingly pokey for the pile of crap that it is.

Crudely simple engineering at its worst !!!

I have a bike but I wulod not be interested in that one. I have the bike as transportation and not for any other reason. It is ugly but runs well and parts are every place for it.

cz mz they were both crap when new, smoky 2 strokes, noisy and no power... you couldnt give it away, except maybe to the scrap man... and hes likely to charge you for removing it. and sorry, but it isnt worth a quid...

They are slow and boring, and you have to mix the oil yourself. Every Japanese two-stroke had automatic oil injection by then. It will get you from a to b indefinitely, but that's about it.

I would not have one of these buckets of shite if you gave it to me and then gave me £500 quid - they are truly abysmal smoke machines on two wheels - You give me £1000 and I'll take it away for you to a scrap heap.
