I recently swapped out my stock exhaust manifolds with some used ones I bought on Ebay b/c one of my original ones were cracked. When I got finished with the swap I cranked it up and the drivers side was perfectly fine but the passengers side was leaking like crazy. I took it back off tonight and seen the gasket had blew out at the bottom of it on all three cylinders. Why I don 't know.. I just now spent several hours putting a new gasket on and making sure I tightened it from the inside out and all that fun stuff just to crank it up and it's still doing the exact same thing.. exhaust is escaping at the bottom of the gasket on all three cylinders. What the hell could I be doing wrong? Could the manifold be warped or something? Any Ideas?

I have a 2002 Mountaineer and it's been working perfectly but I just went to turn it on and it wouldn't start. I put the key in the ignition and it won't move to start the car. Someone told me the steering column might be locked. Can that be it and if so how can I unlock it?

I have a 1992 Buick Roadmaster. Recently I have not driven it for 2 days now (with the weather getting colder in Illinois). I got into my car for a 2-3 minute drive and the car started fine. However when I got back into the car less than 5 minutes later to go back home, my car would not start. The battery is getting enough power (interior lights/radio are full power, not dimmed or doesn't look like it's not getting enough power).

When I tried to start it, the engine would not begin to turn over and the interior lights do not flicker.

Does my problem seem to be the alternator/starter or something else?

thanks

I have a 99 mustang... the other week it wouldnt start - it just made a clicking noise. I had AAA come and jump start me then I took it straight to O'reilly's auto center where I had bought a new battery last July. They tested it and said both my battery and transmission are completely fine.
Well, today I went out to my car... it wouldn't start AGAIN. This time it didn't just click though - it tried really hard to turn over, but it wouldn't.
Any ideas? It just had a complete checkup/oil change during the summer - AFTER I got the new battery and everything was fine.
Help? Suggestions?

I have an Audi A3 covered by Audi warranty (Germany).
Stupid as it sounds, I've fueled the Diesel car with a regular fuel, and few minutes later I realized what I've done after the car stopped.

I've called a road service which managed to drain the fuel tank , later I've fueled again with diesel and the car seemed to work fine.

Few minutes later the car stopped again.

I've called the Audi service center in Germany, since my car is still covered by the first two years' warranty, but haven't told them what really happened.

My question is what should I do now ? if I would tell them would they still cover the damage, if not, will they be able to find that out and charge me ?

Thank you.

Can anyone recommend a manual covering the basic operation and repair of small engines? Every gasoline powered item I have seems to run rough and even after the obvious spark plug, filter replacement and fresh gas I have no improvement. I'm a service tech by trade so I'm no weekend warrior, just never got into small engines. Thanks!

Over the past month or so, my 97 toyota avalon hasn't started right away three times. it would start evantually but yesterday it wouldnt start for four or five times after turning the ignition. It makes no noise at all when this happens, i just get nothing at all when i turn the key. Is it the battery? I havent replaced it in the 4 years that i've owned it, is there an easy way to figure this out? the car has about 82k miles. thanks....

I want to wire up a Push Button start rather than inserting a Key to start my car (I'm a geek - so dont ask why). I have a remote for my car to lock my doors and unlock them. I'm not really worried about someone breaking into my car. I have a 1997 Nissan Sentra GXE and wanted to purchase THREE switches, two regular flip switches and one Monetary switches to start my car but I'm not too geeky to figure it out on my own where to wire everything up at however If told, I can figure it out. I'll have the three switches, the first two switches will be two power on my accessories while the third switch will be used to Turn my Car on. Turning off the two switches will turn the car off.

Every time I go outside I smell gas. I finally figured out the problem. We have a 1995 Ford truck with a flat bed. It has dual gas tanks. The back tank seems to be dripping gas and where it's dripping there is a white crystalized substance. Looks like little ice crystals. Actually, this is in two places. At the base of the tank and on the pipe leading out of the tank. What is this? Can I drive with this? Please help! (I can't just run over to my local garage, cuz it's in town which is 20 minutes away)
Thanks for any advice, suggestions, etc.

Recently, my car has not been immediately moving in drive even when it has been successfully shifted. The car is an automatic. It will reverse even while it won't go forward. Interestingly, the problem only lasts for a few seconds then the car works fine. There seem to be no other problems while driving. The problem also has only been happening in the morning. It might also be important that it recently has gotten quite a bit colder where I live.
