Can anyone recommend a manual covering the basic operation and repair of small engines? Every gasoline powered item I have seems to run rough and even after the obvious spark plug, filter replacement and fresh gas I have no improvement. I'm a service tech by trade so I'm no weekend warrior, just never got into small engines. Thanks!

Try your local library. The most likely problem with your small engines is the carburetors. They get pluged over time and cause the rough running. They are easy to remove and clean on most engines. If you install a rebuild kit, as you should, it will come with instructions.
