When Im driving the oil pressure starts gradually dropping to zero. i pull over and turn engine off and wait about 5 min and restart and it goes back up to 40. Is this from the guage or oil pressure sensor or oil pump?

Just replaced shocks after 101k (not bad) got rid of alot of my bounce when hitting bumps. I still have a hop in the rear somewhere when i hit about 48mph. It seems to be mostly on the drivers side rear. Can see corner of bed bouncing. I feel it in the seat and not the steering wheel. Somebody suggested a bent axle or bad bearing?? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The hop goes away about 51 mph and you do not hardly feel it with weight n the truck.

The car fax report recommends that it be checked by a professional to insure there is no flood damage just because of where and when it was registered. How can I check it myself? What do I look for?

I have an Infiniti I30 and my steering wheel vibrates when I apply brakes at sppeds over 50 MPH. Had brake pads, wheel bearings and rotors replaced at Midas in February. Took it back to them and they said that a caliper was sticking. Replaced both front calipers and pads again and the problem still exists. Braking feels normal at lower speeds. Do not wanna to go back to Midas because they obviously do not want to stand behind their work and can't seem to get it right. Could someone list the possible causes of this problem before I go to a different shop and get robbed again? At least I'll have some idea of what is ridiculous or not. Thanks.

My 85 El Camino won't start once the engine and starter get hot. When the engine is cold the car turns on, but once i turn it off it won't do anything when i turn the key. If I wait a several hours untill its cold it will turn on. And if i wait about an hour it still won't do anything, but if I use jumper cables with another car it turns on. I have also noticed that a couple of weeks ago when I was looking under my car the starter was just hanging from the battery wires, apparently the bolts were lose and must have fallen out when driving. I have replaced the bolts since then but now everytime i try to start it (when its cold) i have to turn the key a couple of times because I can hear the starter spinning but only the starter my engine isn't cranking. So I turn the key a couple of times and usuall by the 3rd or 4th time it crank. Are these problems related? Is my starter bad? Or do i have several problems here?

I met with an accident the other day where a drunk guy hit me at the rear end of my totyotal avalon. there is considerable body work to be done. i dont know if there may be any mechaninical problem with the car. The guy who hit me had insurance from progressive company. Progressive gave me two options: either repair the car with their own service providers where they give me life time guarantee on repairs and parts but have told me that they may use remanufactured parts or used parts for repair. The other option is to go to the toyota dealer and have the car repaired with new parts. In this case I will have to live with the warranty the toyotal dealer will give me on the parts. WHICH OPTION IS USUALLY RECOMMONEDED :TO GET THE CAR REPAIRED WITH PROGRESSIVE OR WITH TOYOTAL DEALER OR IS THERE A THIRD OPTION? i am not much experienced with repairs from accidents so any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

OK, here is the problem. I have a compleatly custom exhaust on my 1998 3.8L V6 Camaro. It has Headers, 3" exhaust pipes and a Magna-Flow cat-back exhaust system. However, I am still left with the stock catalytic converter. How much is that holding my car back? Is there any way I can modify the stock cat to make it more "high flow"?

**Must pass PA emmissions inspection!! (can not cause "check engine light")**

Would I be better off just purchasing a high flow cat? any suggestions on what to look for?

Truck: 2000 F-150
This just started recently, and after a short while, my battery went dead. I got a new battery, but the problem persists. When the truck starts, the speedo races all the way up, along with the tachometer. Then they come back down to zero after a couple of seconds.

If there are standards for engine mounts, I can imagine doing engine swaps between certain types of engines for a particular model would be much easier than if you have to fabricate new mounts for every engine swap that is to be performed.

Last summer my air conditioning worked very well and when it came time to start using it this summer it wouldn't work. I thought it was a leak in the system somewhere so I went and got the things to recharge it. I did that but when I tried to check the pressure in the system I noticed that the compressor wasn't working. I thought that was the problem but over some time I was messing around with some relays and I got the compressor to come back on, but still the cold air is not working it just blows warm air. Any ideas?

Why do people waste their time and money on the instant fix additives sold at the auto parts store? Are people so dumb they think that a can of liquid will save them thousands of dollars by doing an instant engine rebuild? What do you think of such products?

He works at autozone. Today after talking for awhile he said he'd fix my stuff for me (in his friends garage). I said really, is $100 ok.. won't it take 5-6 hours? He said $100 is fine and it should only take 3-4 hours. The work is being done on a Ford Focus.

Is $100 okay, is that being generous or greedy? My uncle could do it for 100 so that's what I offered him. He probably makes $7/hr at autozone.. or at least another guy I know makes that much there.

I have a 1997 Ford Explorer and I noticed that when I get up to speeds like 55mph and more there is a very loud rattling sound coming from under the hood. Is this a sign of a bad rod? Also when I am turning or backing up there is a creaking noise (almost like popping popcord but on slow) coming from under the truck.
