I am thinking of buying a 4.0 or 4.6 Range Rover but I know they have had overheating problems on many of them. Does anybody know if the problem has been sorted and, if so, from what year. I believe the one to have is the P38. would like a response from an AA or RAC tecnician.

The original garage's readings were 9(co emissions) with 3 being the limit. I took it to another garage and it passed with flying colours. Can the readings really be that different or (as I suspect) were the first garage trying to sting me?(they did offer to sell me products to sort the problem out!)

A friend of mine got a flyer from a car dealer suggesting this. I've heard of filling tires with nitrogen to prevent dry rot during long periods of storage but why would it produce better mileage? Less rolling resistance being more dense? Different temperature coefficient? There has to be the actual answer somewhere but all I can come up with are half a**ed guesses.

currently I have a 89 bronco II 4wheel drive vehicle. I will be towing a trailor from tx to md on a road trip in a week or so. I have time to either buy a new truck or just swap engines. I currently have a 2.9L 6 cyl. I wouldn't mind having a 5.0. I was towing the trailer today and struggled to keep 60mph. Should I buy a vehicle with a 5.0 swap motors and sell the vehicle or just buy a 5.0 engine and sell my 2.9? Im open to any suggestions but I really dont wana lose alot of money, so probably trading it into a dealer for a new vehicle wont be the best so dont suggest that to me plz.

I think my wiring on my Toyota 93 V6 3.0 engine is corroded from battery acid and needs to be replaced.

I have heard this job is quite expensive, but was wondering if it was more to do with labor or parts.

If i could find one in a salvage yard maybe it wont be too bad.

what can you say?

Hey :) Im a down to earth person, i love work and the work i do and haven been good at it for many years now ive been very helpfull to many people that obviously needed help with the car or what not.
Anyway before i go off track here, i have noticed the amount of people that walk into the shop and barely see me on the counter saying "Hey there! Can i help you with anything?" And they look over my shoulder like as if theyre looking for a male help.
I can deal with this quite easy but im getting sick and tired of it.
Yesterday i actually got a phone call, and i picked it up and the man on the phone said "I NEED HELP! Is there a mechanic i can speak to?" I said "Yeah sure, whats the problem?" and he continued "...i just need to tlak to someone about my car its rattling! and wont start! i need to talk to a mechanic!" so i go "Okay, hold on. <2seconds pass> Yes! MECHANIC HERE"

Id love to know everyone elses views on a female mechanic. Would it bother you at all?

and burn the insulation off of it??

that is what happened to me today when I was at a red light and when I started to go again, the truck jolted and died and I noticed smoke coming from underneath the hood and when I lifted it, I saw the smoke coming from the battery cable going to the negative.

IT burned the insulation right off of it practically, but the truck started back up again and I drove it to a parts store and we changed the clamp around the terminal and re clamped the wires and put electrical tape around the wires.

Great car when it runs. Driving down the road it just dies, now it only starts and dies. Charging system good, fuel system, lines, good, no check engine light, Injectors do not appear to be bad, new pcv valve, ran Slick 50 through to make sure no residue, mechanic is baffled, taken manifold off, cleaned and cleared all lines, what is left or has been missed? Car has low mileage and well taken care of. Started out by just dying while driving, seemed like after car would get warm and then after it sat for 30 minutes or so it would start right back up and go again, sometimes dying, but not all the time. Now can't keep it running for long, fuel is flowing. Need help with how to figure this out without spending a zillion dollars, already have spent almost $1500.00 in fuel system repairs. Mechanic is at a dead still. Please help.

I have a 1990 Honda Accord. The transmission has taken to getting stuck in 2nd when the engine is warm. When it's cold everything works fine. My husband checked the TCM code. The red light is flashing 6 short, 1 long, 5 short and repeat. However we can't find out what this code means. Does anybody know what the code means or where we can find a list of the codes for the Honda Accord? We already tried the official Honda site with no luck. Thanks

Or could you tell me what it is? The computers in the store are for 1996 cars and up. They don't have anything for 1995 and down.
