I would head to eBay. Search for IMPALA REMOTE. You may find a seller that includes programming instructions, or do a Google search. It is usually pretty easy. I programmed a spare remote to my Toyota Matrix. I had to turn the key on and off and open / close the door a bunch of times to enter programming mode - all cars differ in the procedure.
The Impala may require a Scan Tool, which you may need to go to the dealer for, but you could purchase the remote on ebay for around $20 and save a bunch of money.

You will need a remote from the dealer. Find one that matches the orginial exactly. There is a procedure for programming the remote. Go to a Chevy fan website and ask them or ask one of the mechanics at the shop. On the Ford, I believe you have to turn the key on and then off for 8 times and then leave it in the run position and then push a button on the remote and the car will learn it. For the Chevy, the procedure would be something like that.

I got one from a dealer that I buy cars from and they gave me one and programmed it for free. One of the benefits of dealing with the same salesman and having your family deal with him too.

good luck.

Go to your local Chevy dealer and explain your dilemma, I am sure that this has happened many times in the past and they should be able to help you. It may be a bit pricey, $50 to $100 maybe?

You will need to go to the dealer and get a new one. $30 tops.
Programing your new remote, at least $100...labor.
Most dealerships charge around $130 an hour for labor.
