Just replaced shocks after 101k (not bad) got rid of alot of my bounce when hitting bumps. I still have a hop in the rear somewhere when i hit about 48mph. It seems to be mostly on the drivers side rear. Can see corner of bed bouncing. I feel it in the seat and not the steering wheel. Somebody suggested a bent axle or bad bearing?? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The hop goes away about 51 mph and you do not hardly feel it with weight n the truck.

Doubtful it's a wheel bearing or axle problem unless you have gear oil oozing into the brake drum.

If you have already eliminated a tire/wheel that is out of balance...

Most often it's the rear u-joint. Might have them gauge and press the driveshaft if it needs it when they are monkeying around with the u-joint while they have the driveshaft off. Take it to a shop that handles driveshafts almost exclusively.

Good Luck!

As a GM technician I can tell you it is not a bearing. I suspect you have a tire just starting to separate. If you lift the back of the truck up and block it, you can run the truck in gear and see if the rear tires have a wobble in them.

Check your tires for correct balance, have a mechanic check for a bad axle bearing, and tire condition, also check for loose cab/body mounts, loose bolts /rivets on the spring hangers, loose lug nuts, rim it's self, tire tread and sidewall condition.Good Luck.
