I want my cars to have those cool blue lights. Should I change the bulb or the whole lighting system? I want high performance cool blue headlights that are brighter than the stock. Please help.

you first need to check with the local laws someplaces don't allow them except for cars that came with them (thats the way it is here) most auto parts places carry them usually as an H3 bulb (most newer cars) have them look up your car and see what bulb goes in them and see if they have one of the type you are looking for remember do NOT touch the bulb the oil from your finger will cause a hot spot on the bulb and make it burn out quicker leave the cover wrapper on until the last possible moment GL

Those are HID, for High Intensity Discharge. They work by something sort of like sending a bolt of lightning through a tube of xenon gas. The only real chance to swap them out is if there are any Tacomas that come with these from the factory. If so, you will need to swap the whole thing over - reflectors, sockets, and a special high voltage control module. There are some aftermarket headlight bulbs that try to look like HID lights, but these are just ordinary light bulbs with filters on them. The filter works by absorbing light, so these put out less useful light than an ordinary bulb. And they don't really look like HID's at all - the color is all wrong.

You can find them at your auto parts dealer. If not then check with JC Whitney, they sell them.

This is only a bulb change and can go in any car headlight even though they are illegal in many states except for off road use.

Good Luck!

There just blue, maybe not brighter ? check if they are legal first. You can buy kits or just bulbs it depends on your application. I put them on a van when they first came out they were not brighter. They do make bulbs for most applications for about 18.00 each. do some research on weather they are department of transportation approved. Kits take a bit of work and work best if you already have projection head lites

make shore you check you state laws..i know that in Maryland that your headlights have to be white (blue will fail an inspection) unless they come for the factor with the high intensity lights. the high intensity lights will only pass an inspection on an older car if the complete wire for the head lights changed

If you have an Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts nearby, they stock the "cool blue" headlights.

those halogen bulbs bulbs are available anywhere headlights are sold. you wont have to change the lighting system, you just need to buy bulbs specific to your car, like buying any other bulb. beware-they cost more than normal bulbs.

It depends on the car. In most cases you can change the bulb and that'll do it. There are some older models that are trickier.
