ok... i know this sounds funny/stupid.... not to mention crazey..
but, i have a dodge truck and today it would change (transmission) out of 1st gear until i put gas in it, yes i said gas. the gas was really low as on the red line low. this was NOT the 1st time it has done this. this has happened 2-3 other times when the gas has gotten really low. fliud checked out fine and i switched it off (b4 adding gas) and switched it back on, and it still wouldn't shift. all other times it shifts fine, only when the gas is that low is when i have probs with it shifting. after adding the gas, i was on my merry lil way without any probs. my brother was with me when this happened and when i told him after i put gas in it, it will probley be fine, he thought i was crazy. after adding gas, he saw for himself and didn't know what 2 say... my van wouldn't shift once due to a fuse being out, but never from low gas.
i PROMISE this happened, no joke...
have you heard of this b4 or know anything about it?

I have a 1984 Chevrolet Suburban w/ the GM 6.2 Diesel Engine. This truck has the 700r4 Transmission, and here is my problem.

I don't know much about Automatic Transmissions, but I am fairly mechanicly inclined in reguards to the rest of a vehicle.

I was driving along, all fine and dandy, and then I stoped at a stop sign, took off, and the transmission sounded like it didn't want to shift out of first gear, so I eased off the accelerator a bit to let it shift, and it just fell out of gear. After this, it never went back in gear, not reverse, not 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. It will still go into park and lock into park like it should, but it won't even shift into any other gears. I can pull the shifter into any position, and there is no shifting into any gear.

I'd love to get this old beast moving again, so if anyone has any idea what may have happened, please enlighten me. I will answer any specifc question you may need for clarification.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

I have a '96 Nissan 200 SX SE 1.8 liter, I went to start it this morning and it did start and it ran for like 3 seconds but it was making a really loud noise and then just quit. I checked the timing chain, spark and compression....the compression is low but everything else is fine. The last thing I did was yesterday I jump started my motorcycle. Could anything electronicly be wrong since I jump started it? (ie. the fuel injectors not firing?) Could anyone please help?

What could cause my fuel pressure to drop?
I have a 1990 chevy camaro rs. swapped the FI 305 for a carb. 355(bored 30 over). When I swapped engines I kept the electric fuel pump and installed a regulator. My ca kept dying no matter what I did so hooked up a fuel pump vacuum meter or whatever it's called and this is what I found: with fuel regulator on it reads only 1.5 psi while running and drops to 0 then car dies, without fuel regulator it reads 3psi then drops to 0 while running, for everytime I turn the key to on position w/o regulator it raises psi by 3 or 4, if I turn key to on position 3 times it will read 10-12 psi then I started the car and it ran perfectly until it got down to 1 and 0 psi then it dies, the more I rev the engine the quicker the psi drops to 0. So what could cause my fuel pressure to drop so rapidly? It can't be the fuel pump or fuel filter cause I just replaced them cause thats what i figured it was. Everything ran smoothly after the engine swap for about 5 months and then I started having this prob.

Only thing I can think of is maybe theres a sensor that isn't recieving any input so it thinks the car is off therefore shutting the fuel pump off. How would I bypass this(in detail)
