Chevron's Techron is the best cleaner of the bunch. The only way high octane gas could prevent a check engine light is if your knock sensor is going off. Having the timing too far advanced or really bad carbon buildup in the cylinders could do that.

If your check engine light is coming on its for a different problem. 93 octane refrains from exploding longer than regular does.

Get the car looked at, It sounds like the computer is not able to retard the timing when knock occurs, and sending an error code, which the super prevents the knock and the computer does not sense that and thinks the timing is OK.

USE ONLY Shell Texaco or Chevron Regular. The regular at those stations is higher quality.

Premium is only for High compression engines, or where turbo is involved which is kinda like having a variable high compression engine.
BP and ARCO are together and their quality is sub par!

Federal guidelines require vehicle manufacturers to provide that your engine will run properly on regular 87 octane. If you need 93 octane or your check engine light illuminates tells me that your engine is probably experiencing a misfire and/or knocking condition with regular octane. Bring your car to the dealer and tell them that your check engine light is on and that you would like a diagnosis. If they tell you that you need 93 octane to fix it then I would call Honda and tell them that this is unacceptable. There is a remote possibility that you could have carbon buildup on the top of your pistons which would increase the compression ratio or cause preignition. Top engine cleaner can resolve that.
