Just start pulling vacuum lines off one at a time and capping the fittings so they don't leak. The ones to the ignition and fuel pressure regulator are the only ones that need to be on for the engine to idle smooth.

Vacuum leak is a very likely cause, sometimes it is very hard to find a vacuum leak.

If you could provide some more details, on when it shakes, such as when you slow down or accellerate or all the time.

Stalling out could be caused due to over heating, just an idea, since the little details are there for me to go on.

You could try and see if your sparks plugs are gapped properly it could be mis firing.

There could be a variety of issues. Are there any other performance details that you can provide? Shaking can be spark.. i.e. distributor cap, wires, plugs... The car not firing all cylinders. What year is your explorer? Does it backfire?
