What is the best way to get these dents fixed without paying out my 500 dollar deductible for insurance? I wouldnt want to do it myself by buying one of those miracle products on TV...what would be my cheapest solution outside of just living with the new dings?

I have a 2001 accent and I keep up with the maintnance to it. 2 days ago I added some oil and today was the first time I drove on the highway at 60mph. The car shook a little and I noticed some smoke coming out. I let off the excelorater and it went away. It did this one more time and then I got off the highway. At slower speeds it doesn't seem to be happening. Could this just be that I spilled some oil on the engine or is this a bigger problem??!!

I just bought a "new to me" car and the previous owner was obviously a smoker. The car has a lingering cigarette stench, which, to me, a non-smoker, is torture. What are your secrets to removing that nasty stale smoke smell?

Thanks!

Engine off, battery is @ 12.75 Volts. Engine on (without lights, fan, etc) battery is @ 14 Volts. When the lights and fan are turned to high the voltage drops to 13 Volts and does not come back up. I'm assuming this is a bad regulator? Anyway to make sure?

My 1993 K reg Vitara is losing water through the exhaust rapidly. I top my radiator up daily but it's using it all up. My grandad (a mechanic) says it's the head gasket. I can get one for £36, how easy is it to do? I live miles from family so will have to do myself. Where can I get specific instructions to do it?

when my car is idling it shakes like every couple of seconds. u can feel it bucking as u take off. Also feels like its lost a acceleration. its more like the motors shaking. The service engine light comes on and sometime it goes off. lately its been coming on and then starts blinking. I put it on a diagnostic computer and i got a code for an O2 sensor. I dont believe an 02 sensor could cause this big a problem. i believe its gotta be a misfire. I'm gonna get pugs and wires 2day...think that'll solve my problem

Anywhere besides "E-Bay" to get one ? I think it's what they call a "Six Pin" ignition switch.
Thank You !

a "mechanic" friend of mine noticed that my lower radiator hose looks like it sprays out coolant while im driving but not when the car is parked (answering my question of why i lose coolant but never see a drop on the ground) he says fixin it will make my engine not get so hot...i kind of don't think thats all that needs to be fixed...When i drive my dashboard temp gauge stays almost to C unless i have to idle for a long time or stuck in traffic but my engine gets insanely hot.. even when I got its oil changed last month the guy said WOW ur engine is too hot.. Any ideas why the engine gets soo hot and the gauge doesnt tell me? Im gettin the spark plugs and wires (they are horribly worn) and the lower radiator hose replaced friday and i had a radiator flush. I always check to see if there is coolant and i add it as needed.

Does this work from state to state? Does it cost to check, like carfax? If so doesn't that mean when buying a used car you could get the VI # and check it out 1st?

Well to be frank, i'm a 19 year old girl who really knows nothing about cars. My boyfriend is a computer guy, not a handy man, and so is my dad. Fortunately, my step dad knows cars and when my brakes started grinding I called him to see if he could figure out what was wrong.

apparently my front right rotor is dead and my brake pads in the front are pretty gone.

He said i'm looking at spending 100-150 to get them fixed at Midas. Has anyone been there before or can anyone confirm this for me? I have to take my car in tomorrow and I don't want to be tricked into spending more than I need to.

It's a 2000 Dodge Stratus if that means anything, and my back brakes are fine.

I have a 1986 Honda Accord that has a leak in the radiator. I can't figure out where the leak is coming from; it's not coming from the radiator hose. When I look underneath the car, I just see the fluid seeping out from the grill. I know nothing about cars, what does it sound like? If it's a leak in the radiator itself, how do I get a better look at the radiator itself? What is the best manual to look for? The Chilton guide? Are there any other hoses I'm not seeing? Thanks.

I just bought a 1996 Sunfire. My boyfriend and I were going over it, making sure my lights and such worked. A couple issues.

My 4ways will only work if I flick on a signal light first.

My lowbeams refuse to work.. I only suceed in turning on my dashlights. My high beams work fine.

The little button is out of my e-brake. (someone was drifting with it before I bought it >.<) Do I have to replace the whole e-brake or can just the button be replaced?

I also have a Hayes manual for 95-04 Sunfire and Cavaliers, so if direction to pages is in order, thats fine too.
For the record, Its a standard.. 2.2 engine, SOHC.

Thanks a bunch guys.

I just had the front wheel bearings replaced but it still sounds like that. The noise seems to be related to the speed of the vehicle, however, not the rpms.......
