I drive a 2004 fiesta. Yeah there was oil in the car and as i pulled over it made a load clicking noise. A friend of mine thinks it could be the head gasket?

if you have replaced the oil with a cold mixture from the bottle out of the boot, then chances are that the engine was still very hot and the sudden temp change when adding the oil, could have caused the head ,gasket ,or a liner in the block to crack, thus hemorrhaging oil internally.or if the motor doesn't turn over, then it may even have seized.

Sounds like you have a hole in the oil sump it would have to be big enough to poor the whole lot out on your drive back (hence not seeing the leak) Did you here a bag like a stone hitting the underside of the vehicle at any point. Wherever the leak (if there's no oil it has to be a leak) it think you may have a terminal problem on you hands in that I think the engine has seized on you (got so hot things have warped and now the are stuck) If you have a AA membership give them a call......

1. Oil light coming on indicates a drop in oil pressure not necessary lack of oil.
2.The car refusing to start may be as a result of ceasing in the piston/cylinder or a damaged camshaft due to running the engine without oil.
3. Check the opening of the exhaust pipe, if you see any traces of oil then your oil was burnt out due to the oil rings on the piston having problem.
4. If the oil was not burnt out, then there must be a leakage somewhere. Check very well.

That's a bit worrying. Apart from some high performance cars I don't know of any with an oil tank; I hope you just mean you put oil in it via the cap on top of the engine, otherwise I'd be fascinated to know here you did put it.
Did you use the dipstick? If you filled up with oil & it isn't showing on the dipstick it's gone straight through! Hole in your sump? Lost the sump plug?

What make/model/year is it? Maybe you didn`t put the oil in the motor. I don`t know what you are driving but I don`t know of to many cars with oil tanks. Was it running when you pulled over? How much oil did you put in it ?

Oil light means PRESSURE (not necessarily volume) of oil.
Sounds like the engine has burned the oil and seizure has occurred.
See if a spanner on the crank-bolt will turn the engine.

Check your sump plug has not come out as you pour oil in runs straight out the bottom or you have a hole in your sump have you hit any thing recently and thought that did'nt sound good but did nt check? if not check your exhaust for oilly deposits if you find some there then i think it is a new engine.

Didn't you ask about being pregnant? I must have clicked on the wrong question. Your problem- The West is also worried about an oil shortage. Don't you go to war over it, call the AA.
