Does switching from D to N and back too frequently (once every few minutes) wear out the car's transmission?

I have a 1993 ford e150 van with a 302 engine. It seems that after hour or so driving in real hot weather coming from work (traffic/temp 100 degrees) that van feels like it is going to stall, runs like it is running out of gas. Usually can stop for few minutes and starts right up and sometimes no problem and sometimes still feels like out of gas and runs rough, next day in morning starts right up and no problem driving 40 miles to work. Seems related to when it is real hot, temp gauge reads normal, could it be vapor lock or some sensor? Check engine came on once when was running rough but after got up to speed it went out. Any ideas, already changed fuel filter, seemed like that helped but like I said only happens on way home from work after hour of being in traffic do symptoms appear, otherwise runs good everday to from work
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I've read alot about spray on primers that you don't even need to sand the surface, all you need to do is spray it directly on the surface of the rust and it is supposed to chemically change the rust to prevent it from spreading, how should I go about preventing this?

So heres the story. I recently got new tires for my 2000 camaro from firestone. When I return to get my car they tell me I need a new lugnut for each tire because the ones I have are worn out. So I have to be at work in like a hour so I want to get everything done so I rush to autozone really quick to get the lugnuts. I go to my house to put the lugnuts on and I notice both of my front fenders are kinda warped or crooked and one is even cracked where they raised it up. Ive showed them pictures of what it looked like before I brought it to them even. One minute they say they didn't do it and now we told them to fix it or we take it to court and they said they would pay for it to be fixed and they said they would have someone come give us and estimate on it. Still no word from them since they told us they was going to fix it what should I do?

I went to Discount Tires to have my tire pressure checked because I couldn't get my pump to work. The guy told me he was making them 35 psi because it is hot and the pressure will lower faster than normal. On the door to my car ('06 corolla) it says the max is 30 psi. I told him this and he said that it needs to be more, but I really don't think that's right. Should I let some air out? How much should it be; even 30 is the max. according to the manufacturer.

I went to Inifiniti dealer because my check engine light and transmission lite lit up. They diagnosed the problem and told me they had to replace the control valve/tcm assembly to resolve the issue. The price was roughly $2,700.They called and said to come pick up my car because it's fixed and everything is ok now. I turned the key in their parking lot the same lights started flashing. The dealer came up with some excuse as to why and told me it's probably going to do that on and off. fixed and I should not worry about the light. So I drove the car home. My transmission was still not shifting right and both lites still on, so I decided to call him back as soon as I got home to drop the car off again. After I dropped it off again the dealer finally called me after 2 weeks and told me that they misdiagnosed the car and that it needs a new wire harness. It took his mechanics 15 hours more to diagnose and that it would cost me $1900 more but we can meet half way. What do I do now?

I have a 03 accord EX 2 door - just got a flat and realize I need 4 new tires. the current tires on there are p205 60 R16 - I happen to have a set of P215 60 R16's in my garage. Will these fit on the rim? I know they are a little wider then the original. Secondly how can a replace a wheel on a tire - its been a tough month and I don't want to spend $185 to get them installed. Does anyone know how to do this, any websites with instructions? I am very handy and I think I can figure it out. I would get them alligned afterwards...

About a month ago my wife was caught in a flash flood. Water got into the car and it stalled. In about an hour the car started but 'check engine light' was on. Our mechanic mentioned that the computer may have been damaged. He checked the computer told us it was ok and the engine light came off. Mind you we then cancelled a scheduled assessment by the insurance (Geico) to check the car because the car was running.
Fast forward to today, and while driving the engine block just blew. A big crack in the engine spilling all the oil.
I was told that water may have been in engine and got between pistons causing it to seize. I was told oil should have been changed. What recourse do we have because engine is shot? Is mechanic liable. I believe he is if it is common practice to replace engine oil.
How should we proceed? Insurance is scheduled to make assessment.

I have a Dodge Ram cargo van, V-6 engine, 1/2 ton.
If the ATF is low (from perhaps not having filled it enough after replacing the neutral saftey switch(?)) would that keep the engine from cranking or starting? If this isn't possible, I'll try the starter next.

Now whenever I start stopping, I get a loud grinding noise. Does anyone know what would cause it and is it safe to drive it until they take it back in?

the car is a 1973 Pontiac Lemans, 350 V8. Water pump needs to be replaced. It's obviously a mechanical pump that's in there now. I was thinking of getting something with more capacity (to start off) as I feel the car could do with a better cooling system (and I have to get a water pump anyways).
I was thinking of getting an electrical pump as that would also free up a bit of power from the engine. From what I gather, by doing this it seems I need to switch to an electrical fan also. Is that the case? Any advice/opinions on electrical systems and set ups? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers. Much appreciated.

I leased a brand new Saturn Ion less than 3 months ago. A month after I got it, the coolant light started coming on, so I brought it into the dealer. He laughed at me and said, "all you have to do is put coolant in it, honey." I brushed it off, I'm used to mechanics treating me like crap because I'm a young good-looking woman. But I still felt like I shouldn't have to be putting coolant in a month-old car.

Of course, the light came back on again, so I brought it in again. Turns out the tank was empty and leaking coolant into the engine, and now the engine's shot. On top of that, they've had it for 3 days and can't find the leak.

Some friends of mine have told me I'm entitled to get a brand new car because I got a lemon, and if they try to give me that car back I should b*tch and moan about it. I don't think I should get a brand new car as long as they can fix the problem. I would appreciate some advice on how to handle the situation, I don't want to be taken advantage of.
