92 Ford Taurus V6 3.0L. I have already tried flushing and vaccuuming the whole system. The AC blows ICE cold forever when idling, but when I drive for about 10 minutes the clutch stops kicking on. The AC quits working all together. If I let the car sit for about 30 minutes to an hour the AC will function properly again. The water drain is not blocked because it wets the ground with big puddles, and the floor boards are never wet. I'm guessing the evap core could be freezing up, I don't know.

Is it true that when you are driving a turbo charged car and you are going to put off the engine it is not advisable to switch off right away the engine. You wait for a minutes to switch off the engine. Why?

My car has 123,000 miles on it.

I have a 1.6L engine with a 4-speed automatic with overdrive.

With the A/C off, it gets 24MPG; with the A/C on, it slumps down to 18-21MPG.

I have replaced my air filter and spark plugs; my fuel filter appeared to be okay.

My car is really slow. I have utility vans and buses pass me while I'm accelerating from a stop. It's not so bad without the A/C, but even then the acceleration isn't very good.

My engine is supposedly rated for 110HP, but it isn't putting out nearly as much; my girlfriend's Ford Probe has 110HP and it out paces my car without even trying. If you floor it, it downshifts and revs really loud but still hardly goes anywhere.

The engine sounds fine and doesn't sputter or anything. My parents' are getting 27MPG from their 2.4L '96 Altima and 27MPG from their 2.0L '90 Camry while I'm getting 18-21MPG from a 1.6L engine, the smallest of all of these.

i cleaned my IAC valve and my air boost valve. It runs better but i still have low rpm when i first turn on the car; I need to accelerate for the rpm to go up to 1 thousand. It also goes down when i shift from first to reverse. Can any one give me an explination as to what might be causing this problem.

1991 Dodge Caravan 4cyl 2.5 runs good except when it is really humid. Then it will die. it will restart, but won't stay running if you press on the gas or put it in gear. But if you let it sit for awhile. It will start up and run perfect.

I think the lubricant increases electrical resistance even though it was labelled specifically for spark plug use. Shall i remove the plugs and clean the threads? Is applying lube on plug threads a commonly followed practice or did i get carried away by a well placed product in an auto shop?

I want to run a couple of 5/8 inch hoses through a hole under the passenger seat, along the undercarriage of the car, and up into the engine bay. What would be the easiest way to make the appropriate holes? I have never drilled steel before.

Can I do this with a sledgehammer and a metal punch? Do I use a router? Can I do this with a wee little 12V drill and corded Dremel tool? I don't want this to take all day long.

Someone pissed in my car. I do not know who, and I do not know why. I have cleaned it all up and shampooed it all out and it still smells bad. So I don't know how often this happens to anyone, but maybe possibly someone could help me out.

36000 miles I notice a humming coming from the back of the car. I jacked it up to day and shook the wheel I really couldn't tell but the more I shook it I could tell it had a little play I checked the other side which I could tell was solid. I am driving 700 miles tommorrow to Minneapolis. I was wondering if the bearing would hold out. I plan on replacing it when I get back I just don't have the time tonight. Sorry my first question was a little vague. I also pulled the brake to make sure it wasn't hanging it looked fine. Any suggestions or can I safely assume I have a failing rear wheel bearing. Also my antilock light is not on I have heard it will turn on if the bearing has already failed. Do you think 700 miles is too far to test out this potential problem?

My sister as a 99 Taurus, and it drove great. The gears shifted smoothed, and no signs of problems. Well see goes to get gas, and when see gets back in nothing. The car wont move, and when you put it in drive/reverse its like its in neutral?

What i have done is hooked my scan tool, and check for codes. I wonted to make sure the trans computer did not go bad, and i got no codes back. The only thing i can think of is its just went up. I dont get how a trans with less then 140k, and never showed signs of going bad could...

Also had a trans flush about a month ago. This is what i think is the problem. I have pulled the pan, and now think it is something else. There is no metal shavings in the pan etc. Its clean, and lans also. Some one told me it could be the plug? I have no clue what there talking about.

Thanks

After I used tryed to charge my jump start battery in my car using a 12v plug, the car no longer charges my car battery.
Did my alternator died out?
When I used the battery on another car it worked fine.

Is it bad for a car to charge a jump start battery while driving?

36000 miles I've noticed it for about 1000 miles or so. Can I make this trip or should I rent a car? I shook the rear wheel it has very little play but, the other side is solid. Guessing by the slight rumble it is a wheel bearing. Any advice for a semi self taught mechanic?

The fuel injectors of my 90 trans am are shot and need to be replaced. Rather than buying the original factory injectors, I was considering installing performance injectors. But what are the advantages of putting in better injectors with a higher flow rate. The original injectors are 19 lb/hr. Whats a good size and resistance injector to use and can any size injectors be installed or do i also have to buy other parts to support it.
