When all accessories lights are on, does it include the light for 'switch on'? If the switch light is off, then your likely culprit is the fusible link. However, if your switch light is on and turn the car key further clockwise(it should be at this point of the switch that there is a minor resistance) but could hear no cranking sound of the engine, then your likely culprit maybe due to a weak battery or a corroded terminal or a terminal not strongly fasten in the car battery's poles.

For weak battery - charge or replace it, which ever is the problem.
For corroded terminal - clean it with water and baking soda or battery cleaner which are available in various car accessory stores.
For loose terminal - clean both pole and terminal, then tighten it more firmly.

After doing all the above and still your car won't crank, then it's likely the starter or solenoid, in which case you have to jump start your car and bring it to your trusted car repair shop because, unless you have the proper tools and equipment, only a professional mechanic can do the repair.

By the way, before bringing it to the repair shop, check whether the nut connecting the terminal to the solenoid is loose because your car will exhibit the same symptoms.

Good luck.

Could be a starter solenoid, which on GMs is attatched to the starter motor, so a new starter would be needed. Get under the front of the engine and hit it with a hammer a couple times and then try to start it. If it starts then get a new starter. If not, could be corroded battery cables or even an ignition switch (not the key switch)

First, check your fuse or fusible link, then check your battery if it's an old one - clean corroded terminals; check your alternator - it may not be charging; check the cable connected to the solenoid - the nut may be loose. These are the troubleshooting methods that you can do at home. However, if still the problem persisted, jump-start your car to your friendly mechanic because only an experienced mechanic can do the dismantling and repairs of the starter or solenoid.

I am guessing starter "solenoid". It is the switch that carries the heavy amperage from the battery directly to the starter motor. You key energizes a thin wire that operates an electromagnetic plunger, so once it mores the heavy connection is made.
Solenoids are usually seperate from the starter motor and cost way less than a starter motor.

First check the cables on the battery terminals then try this, when you turn the key to start the engine, shake the key as you turn it to crank. If it starts then it is your ignition switch. If it doesn't, check you battery and have someone to jumpstart it. If it starts then it is the battery. If all else fails, it is the starter solenoid.

Before you do anything else check that you haven't blown the fuse that protects the starter circuit.
Then trouble shoot from there.
Look for a loose or damaged engine ground strap.
Then the solenoid, then the starter.
