can I use fully synthetic motor oil in a Carina 1999 model that has done 54000km.?

it currently uses semisynthetic oil. what are the advantages and when should one change oil filters when using fully synthetic oils?

Go for it. You don;t need to worry too much abou tthe filter but some people are paranoid schizophrenics about having left a minute amount of old oil in the motor when they change the oil.

Just follow the manufacturers recommendations.

did you know that real oil is actually better for the engine? Real oil breaks down cleaning the engine parts. synthetic does not! stick with your current oil but remamber to change it ontime
