1. door seals
2. bulkhead leak.
3. sunroof drainage pipes blocked
4. bad seal in floorpan.
5. heater matrix leaking

check:
1. under the car along the sill for sill drainage holes, poke a coat hanger up to free crud.
2. do the same as above to the door (along the bottom should be drainage holes)
3. open bonnet and observe for water loss in the header tank over a week or so, this points to the heater matrix or you car generally being chaff.
4. under the bonnet look along under the windscreen for bulit up grime, remove that and look for holes etc.
5. biggie: unbolt the seats and mountings connected to the floor, lift up carpet and sound proofing, refit seats etc. now over a week or so you can observe where the waters coming in - this is usually accompanied by rusty coloured metal!!! - get it sorted.
or do the above by sitting in the car and having a mate run a hose over it for a while.

hope that helps- long answer i know!

Yes, same with me. The cause was a badly-fitted windscreen that had a small gap between the frame where sealant was missing. It took me months to find it. The water on floor of back seat has likely seeped across the floor pan from the front seat?

if you lift the bonnet and check around the washer area there are drains there for water to flow through out onto the road if these are blocked then the water will find its way into the car I've had this problem before so try checking that it may help i hope it does all i had to do was clear the dirt and stuff leaves etc with a power wash and it stopped the problem i do hope this helps

Probably a blocked drain in the heater/ventilation system - meaning rainwater builds up in the bottom of the heater assembly, and then leaks out of the lowest air outlet - usually the left-hand footwells.

My car done this and it turned out that the drain hoses from the sunroof had rotted so the water ran down the door pillars into the footwells, sometimes they get blocked so blow them out. Also on certain cars check the battery tray sometimes they rot and water gets through the bulkhead.

window or door seals, although my golf was leaking from the rear lights, check the boot floor too, water might be running from the back, also chack all the grommits in the engine bay around where the water drains.

You need to check under the bonnet and boot as there drain holes for rain water to drain away from. There should be one on each corner and they get clogged with leaves and need to be cleared regularly.

Could be a faulty window joint or , take a look under the bonnet and see if you have accumulated dirt and stuff near the intake vents for the air supply for your heater / blower.
