Go to an muffler shop and have them look at your cataylic converter. It sounds as if it may be stopped up and not allowing enough exhaust through the tail pipe or either you may need a new muffler.

Sounds like you have a misfire--a plug or lead faulty and as a result the unburnt fuel is being detonated by the heat of the exhaust

on this model i would suspect bad plug wires.. the banging you hear in the converter is unburned fuel lighting off
