I have a 1992 Mercury Villager and have been having a problem with spongy brakes, I have replaced both front rotors and pads, replaced both rear drum brake sets, replaced the master cylinder 3 times this week and finally broke down and replaced the ABS box under the hood that routes the lines to each cylinder. I still have spongy pedal and it will eventually go all the way to the floor, also with the car raised on a rack, the left front and right rear wheels are locked and will not turn until it sits for some time. Help please.

My 93 Z28 use to be in pristine condition. it only has 75k miles and all maintenance work has been kept up. Just recently, I noticed it starting to get ever so slightly sluggish, I thought it was my imagination. About 2 days ago it really started getting sluggish, and I have to give a little bit more gas than I usually do to accelerate and at the same time the motor is running a little more rough. I thought maybe it was congested or it was just working something out so I gave it 75% throttle and it backfired a couple times? I noticed now when I give it a lot of gas like that it will occasionally backfire. I checked the oil and coolant, they have not mixed so it's not a blown headgasket. I also noticed a weird smell coming from the car today, some sort of burning smell. My first guess about all of this is some sort of fuel issue, maybe it's running to rich or too lean? O2 sensor maybe? I'm not a Camaro expert or even very familiar with domestics, so I'm hoping someone can help here?

I want to change the color of my 2002 Camaro from Pewter to Black. How much would it cost to do a good paint job that would last long?

This old bug (in need of mechanical and body work) had been sitting out in a backyard for 6 years, by the time I got it. When I tried to start it I found that the battery was dead and wouldn't take a charge. I bought a new six volt battery and the motor turns over, but even with new gas, won't start.
From my coil wire, I got a very faint spark, but now get next to nothing. Bad coil? Bad voltage regulator? Anything else to look for, that may produce a low spark?
Would like to get it running so I can move it around my yard to the barn where I can work on it.

After I turn on the ignition, I hit the break first, then hit the clause and move the gear “P” position to gear 1, and then hit the accelerator slowly. As I want to increase the speed, I go to gear 2, 3, 4, and 5 respectively. What I do not understand are the following:

1. The manual car is parked. There are no vehicles around (open field). Now can I start the engine, hit the break, hit clause, move the gear “P” position to gear 5, and release the break at the same time. Does this make my manual car move? If no, why not? If yes, can I speed up the car hitting the accelerator now?

2. Suppose I am driving my manual car at 60 zone. My gear position is at 5 gear position. I see the red light and I hit the break to slow down to a stop before the light without changing the gear. Can I do this? If no, why not? In addition, after the green light, if I hit the accelerator with the gear position 5 with an intention to speed up, what will happen? Will that work?

Last September I bought a Daewoo Matiz, against my better judgement but since i'm a student my budget wasn't too good. Anyway, I had to take it back about 4 or 5 times to get the alternator belt fixed after it squeeled heavily and fell off twice.

Anyway, now it squeels when I have the lights on, sounds even worse if I have the blower on full too!!! What can I do to shut it up, obviously a new belt isn't the answer?

When I accelerate or use the gears to decrease speed that is when the squeeling is worst. I don't get it?

So in summary, any use of electrics in the car makes the belt squeel!

So I was driving on the hwy when my 97 mustang v6 overheated ,stalled, and wouldnt start back up we had it towed home and by that time it had cooled and did restart. however the water from the radiator is going in to the oil pan, we have drained the oil and water out, and now the oil plug leaks and the oil leaks out. so other than getting a new oil plug, should this engine be rebuilt, just get a new (used) one, or are there some parts that can be replaced to fix it? I have not drove it sense this happend several months ago, for fear of doing more damage.

thank you

A little over a year ago, my car was working perfectly. I took it to the dealership where I bought it brand new for a rutine check up. When I picked it up, and it had this terrible sound it didn't have before. They charged me 2,500 to fix it.
6 months ago, I took again for a rutine check-up. Again, it came out with this problem with the steering wheel it didn't have before, I paid 2,000 to fix it. I just took again, and again it came out making a horrible screech it didn't make when I took it, and now I'm going to have to pay to get it fixed.

I'm 25 year old college guy, I feel I should learn autoshop now. But, I would have to go 5 days per week for 3 months to the community college, and I'm going to be embarassed telling people I'm taking shop.

Should I enroll anyways?

I have replaced the radiator, fan clutch, water pump and done a cooling system flush. The hoses both seem fine. During the cooler months, it runs well in the 1/4-1/3 normal range, but during the 80's and 90's temps, it heats up to the high normal range. This is worse with city driving. I recently asked this question and was given several tips. So, I replaced the radiator cap and took out the 180 degree thermostat. I ran it today with no thermostat in a 50:50 coolant mix and it still got upto about 2/3-3/4 when I had the A/C on. I am wondering about the fan clutch now. It is fairly stiff when cold and gives a good burst of air on accel, but what is the point of having a clutch in the first place? Why not have a direct drive fan like the older vehicles? I think mine might not be pulling enough air for the temperature outside and the workload. What else could be causing an overheat like this? Somebody said old trans fluid? I have the timing at 4 BTDC instead of the recommed 8 BTDC now.

This last Wednesday at work, I was hauling a 1000 gallon propane tank on a goose-neck trailer when I lost the tie rod joint on the passengers side tire, therefore sending me in a straight path to the guard rail, because the joint went south, I know have over $10,000 in body damage on the drivers side of the truck. The thing I don't understand is this truck is this is a Red 2006 Ram 3500 dually, four wheel drive, with the Cummins H.O. Turbo Diesel motor, and it ONLY has 56,000 miles on it! Can anyone help me figure out why the tie rod went south on me like it did? Or has anyone ever seen anything like it???? Anything would be apprecaited

I am replacing the cylinder head on a 1991 Dodge Caravan with a 2.5 liter engine non turbo. The manifold gasket in the head set appears to be made of graphite over metal. The repair manual is not clear on whether I should use gasket sealer or not. If I should then what sealer should I be using? The gasket seals both the intake and exhaust manifolds. Thanks for the help.

'94 ford taurus. Intermitant starting probs. It will act like it wants to start but won't. Then after awhile, sometimes over night, sometimes in a few minutes, it starts. This is happening more frequently.
