yes it definetly can any time a vehicle is operated in a way other than designed you will end up with wear or breakdown problems. Your transmission is a 4r55e and while in drive at a stop the forward clutch is applied this in itself is not a problem but the increased rpm's with no forward movement is causing stress on the forward clutch while it is trying to hold ther will be slippage, overheating and damage. You may not see a problem right away but you will sooner than later.

It hurts your transmission a bit but the most damage is done to the rear end (differential) of the vehicle
A very expensive repair.

Than stop doing it. If you haven't wreaked anything yet,but I doubt that you soon will.And it's going to cost you. I'm surprised it can even do a burnout.

If it worries you why continue to do them,the damage when it happens will be catastrophic,you are harming your transmission and differential

i think, from what my dad has told me it does or can do something negative to the tranny! i'm not quite sure myself but i just know it's not healthy for the car or truck in your case
