I have a 1992 Mercury Villager and have been having a problem with spongy brakes, I have replaced both front rotors and pads, replaced both rear drum brake sets, replaced the master cylinder 3 times this week and finally broke down and replaced the ABS box under the hood that routes the lines to each cylinder. I still have spongy pedal and it will eventually go all the way to the floor, also with the car raised on a rack, the left front and right rear wheels are locked and will not turn until it sits for some time. Help please.

You may still have air in the system, a more thorough bleeding should be done. This also includes the ABS system that you replaced the hydraulic control unit for. This has a pump inside that may need to be cycled to allow trapped air to escape then rebleed all four wheels.

Sounds like air in the lines or master? I have also heard (a friend has a auto shop) the portioned valve needs to be reset.Drive down road (20-30 mph) slam on brakes a number of times until you here a pop or when brake return to normal.Safety First!

you are looking for the brake equalizer. this gives equal pressure to the four corners of the car. some how you have disturbed this and it needs to be reset.this is difficult if you dont know just how to do it.go to the shop with this one.its a cheap fix. dont try this at home,go to a parking lot where there isnt much traffic, get her going ,and mash the brake pedal HARD,do this 2 or 3 times, rarely this works, but worth the time checking out.good luck

Replace ALL the brake hoses. The brake fluid deteriorates the inside of the hose. It causes the hose to swell to the point of blockage.
