Yeah, it's fine. Just don't do it too much.
You kinda have to when you're moving slow, but it's bad for the same reasons as when moving forward--you will wear out the clutch faster if you do it a lot.
If for some reason you are in reverse for a long time, the same rules apply as for the forward gears: let out the clutch all the way if you're moving fast enough to do so, and if you're stopped for more than a second, put it in neutral and release the clutch.

The problem with riding the clutch is wear and heat. Wear means that if you ride too often, the clutch would last instead of 80.000 miles maybe 60.000 miles, which is not important - more important is to drive slower and safer when in reverse.
Too much heat will develop if you ride too long on single occasion. You can burn the clutch and then it can be 1000 miles instead of 80.000 - you can burn the clutch on the new car on the first day. The sing of burning is smell/smoke.
This happens sooner if you do it uphill or accross any other obstacle.
If you feel you are getting into trouble stop the car for a while for the clutch to cool down.

Come on, it's the same in reverse as going forward. You should never ride the clutch either direction.

Yes it's ok and won't cause damage to your clutch plate and clutch pressure plate because the gear of reverse is even lower than 1st gear.

Driving a manual transmission SHOULD be no different than an automatic , but depending on the circumstances it is mandatory that sometimes you do , tight spaces, backing out of a parking space, but any long haul driving you do in reverse no definitely not.

i do. i mean, its not like you're in reverse that long anyways. and if you are, you've got enough Reverse SkillZ to do it without riding clutch. don't worry.

Shouldn't ride the clutch, full stop. It causes wear.
