I checked the fuel injectors, and they seemed sort of dirty, maybe they were clogged or faulty?

Sounds to me as though the computer in your car took a surge from her battery. Have it checked out by a dealer. Computer problems are nothing to guess at, and if not fixed can cost you a bundle in the long run.

Whose car was dead? Yours or hers?
I'm trying to picture what exactly you were doing.
Was it her cables that were crossed or were the colors wrong? I doubt if the cables were wrong because the car wouldn't have been able to start.

.
If you hook up batteries wrong you can damage both vehicles so this has to be done carefully.
,
The fuse that protects the computer is small and if it had blown the car would have quit right then, and not started. So I think it may be alright.
I say "may", because a surge can travel via the ground and hit the computer from the negative side where there is no protection. But again, this normally results in instant failure.
.
If you are talking about her car, then I would double check the charge and make sure the alternator and regulator are working properly. If the battery isn't being charged it will die and so will the engine.
.
I hate to tell you anything else with knowing exactly what is going on.

sometimes when this happens the computer on a car goes out of wack i would take both battery cables off and let sit for 10 min and then but back on and drive car this will rest the computer if this does not work take the car to autozone and they will tell you by putting a meter hooked to your computer and it will read a code that will tel them what is wrong if nothing is wrong they can reset the computer i am 100 percent sure there is nothing major wrong good luck

Let chevrolet or a dealer that can test your computer on your car. When you reverse the polarity it could have triggered something in the computer that will just get. I don't know if it will be an inexpensive fix or not. It just depends.

Nest time, look at the markings on the battery itself. Don't take for granted that the cables are properly marked.

Shouldn't be related. Worse come to worse your battery wouldn't of charged since you say it wasn't on long. Most cars will protect its from this mistake. Its more common than ya think it would be. If you would of left it on long it could of cause the battery to explode.

I don't believe the two are related. Just coincidence.

Try a tuneup.
It's probably past due anyway......(-:
