I hit a white painted wooden pole with the side of my Saturn. It doesn't seem to be dented, but could be scratched. Since it is a Saturn I know it's made with plastic. There is a good amount of white on the side of the car which I think is just paint from the pole. I was wondering if anyone knew How likely it was that it was scratched (I was only backing out of a parking spot so I wasn't going fast, just being dumb) and/or how expensive it would be to get repaired. I have never had a vehicle buffed or any body repair to any vehicle I have own so I am kind of clueless. Thanks!

I just had a new heater core installed because I had a coolant leak in my 2000 Sunfire. Before the car went in the heater was working perfectly. After the repair, I can only get warm air from the heater, it is not nearly as hot as it used to be....or not nearly as hot as our other car or my neighbours.
The garage that installed it, claims the heat is normal, but it is definately not. After some research, the only explanation I have found is there could be some air in the line. Any suggestions??

The maximum mark... Is there much point in this? My mate has filled his right up to near the neck of the tank, is there any negative impacts in doing this?

I am having problems with my car starting. I posted a question earlier, but I am going to add more info this time. Over about the last 7 months, I have been having this problem. It doesn't happen all of the time. In fact the car can go a month with no problem at all. When I turn the key, it doesn't act like a dead battery. The clock, radio and heater all come on. It doesn't even sound like it is trying to start. Sometimes if I hold the key in the start position for a while (10 seconds) it will start to turn over, but most of the time, not. The last time this happened, one of the times we tried to start it, it acted as if the battery was dead. This is the only time it has done that. It later started fine without being jumped. Today, the turn signal was going about 5 times as fast as usual for a short time, then it was fine. We replaced the starter about 6 months ago...didn't help. I have 3 sets of keys and tried them all, no differences. Any ideas?

There are times my car just won't start. There doesn't seem to be anything uniform that is different like weather or anything like that. I just turn the key and it does nothing. It is as if I turned the key backwards to turn on the radio. Usually everything turns on but the car. It just acts like there is no connection to start it. We replaced the starter about 6 months ago hoping this would fix the problem...it didn't. It will go for a month with no problems, then all of a sudden it happens again. This last time, it acted like it had disconnected from the battery. It started out the same as every other time (radio would come on, heat, etc...) Then nothing would come on. For some reason it later started with no problem at all, but my clock was reset and everything. (And we didn't jump start it.) Today the turn signal was going about 5 times it's regular speed for a short time then went back to normal. Any ideas? Other times it runs great.

Then I noticed steam coming from my engine hood but when I turn on the AC, it goes away.
I have a 97 Honda Accord 6 cycl. One more thing, I added straight antifreeze to the radiator - no water. Any advice on what could be wrong? Does this sound expensive?

Hi
My S40 is suddenly behaving really strangely! It keeps cutting off every time I go into the first gear - meaning every time i have to make a turn, or at the roundabout or at a traffic light - really annooying. And it wouldn't start if I don't give it a bit of gas. Took it to the shop twice - they hooked it to the computer and could find nothing! Help!
What can it be?

Ok my daily driver is a 1993 Suburban 3/4 ton 4x4. It has 293,000 miles. My oil pressure is fine when I start it but after about 10 minutes it runs very low. I am going to replace the pump simply because, even though it might not be the main problem, I know it probably needs it anyway. Any suggestions would be great. Do I just need to remove the oil pan, or is there more to it? Thanks

Why not stop at the total or slow down 5 cents before? Why 40 cents? Is it nothing more than hopes that some impatient people will say F it and leave, giving them more profit or is there a legit reason?

For about the past year I have had to jiggle my key in the ignition quite a bit to get it to turn. Yesterday, in an attempt to finally solve the problem, I applied WD-40 to my key and the ignition. After waiting about 20 minutes I went to turn the key and now I can not get it to turn far enough to start the car at all no matter how much I try to jiggle it. Can someone give me an idea of what might be the problem here before I hand over my credit card to a mechanic. ie. is there something maybe I could insert into the ignition to counteract the WD-40 maybe?

I have Honda Accord 2001 with 92K miles on it. I recently got a tune up (changed spark plugs, ignition wires, anti freeze & fuel injection) done 5 months back. I got my last oil change about 1600 miles back.

After, all this 'maintanence req' indicator started flashes yesterday. So what could be the possible reason?
