those are nice, and they do last a long time, and there a lot brighter than regular bulbs are,if there is a problem with them you do have to replace the whole thing, that is true, but thy don't give many problems,i have installed some in the camaro,s and they look good when lit up but you do usually have to replace the whole light part of it if it goes out,but there supposed to last for a million hours ,that's a lot, good luck with it hope this helps.

Leds are cool. The latest ones are really bright. Some day maybe they will replace fluorescent and incandescent. The problem is the price of an array. They have to have a way to limit the current. An array as manufactured is sealed and not easily repairable. If the current limiter fails, the unit dies Maybe some day. If enough people like you buy them, maybe the market will cause the technology to evolve.

LED lights are actually an electronic component. LED (Light Emiting Diode). Diodes are found in almost every electronic circuit. Very seldom does a diode burn out. LED's can last many years and not use much Current to operate. Though they can be expensive to repair if you can not do this yourself.
Heck, They have LED's now for the Home, though they are expensive, they have a life expectancy of 60,000-100,000 hours. My experence with electronics, I feel they could last longer.

LED lights typically have very long lifetime. Over 50 years before they burn out.

Their only weakness is that they run at low voltages and are sensitive to spikes and surges.

LEDs are more reliable than standard light bulbs, and if one goes out, the rest are still burning.
