I have Honda Accord 2001 with 92K miles on it. I recently got a tune up (changed spark plugs, ignition wires, anti freeze & fuel injection) done 5 months back. I got my last oil change about 1600 miles back.

After, all this 'maintanence req' indicator started flashes yesterday. So what could be the possible reason?

could be any number of things.... You should check around and see if there are any autoparts stores that will read the code for free off of your car. I believe Autozone could do this for you...

Start with the basics.
Check your engine oil, coolant level, and check your gages.
Does something seem odd?
Does it idle nice and smooth?
Did you just get gas and possibly put the gas cap on crooked?

There are many components that work together in the engine to maintain optimal engine performance and economy.
A service engine soon, or check engine light indicates that there is a sensor that is reading a condition that is "out of range".
Simply resetting the light does not solve the initial cause of the problem.
Replacing a number of parts trying to troubleshoot the problem in the hopes of getting the light to stay off is a tremendous waste of time and money.
The simplest, and most economical way to alleviate your issue, is to have an engine diagnostic done by a reputable shop to determine what caused the computer to signal you to begin with. Just reading the computer codes may not find the "cause".

That being said, if per-chance you feel the need to reset the light in the hopes that it was a "glitch" of some kind, you could disconnect the negative battery terminal for a couple of minutes to clear the check engine light.

well I have a Honda and it does the same thing when its time for the oil to be changed. I will say that it also flashed at me when I forgot to put the fuel cap back on.

If you've already changed the oil, you might have changed it before you were suppose to. Just reset it and that should bing it in sync with you changing the oil.

Most auto parts stores can hook up a little computer to your vehicle and evaluate it's functions. They can tell you why the light is on and reset it for you when the repairs are made.
