I hit a white painted wooden pole with the side of my Saturn. It doesn't seem to be dented, but could be scratched. Since it is a Saturn I know it's made with plastic. There is a good amount of white on the side of the car which I think is just paint from the pole. I was wondering if anyone knew How likely it was that it was scratched (I was only backing out of a parking spot so I wasn't going fast, just being dumb) and/or how expensive it would be to get repaired. I have never had a vehicle buffed or any body repair to any vehicle I have own so I am kind of clueless. Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and go to the parts store and get a bottle of plastic body polish first of all. Take it home and follow the directions using an old terry cloth towel. This should remove the paint from the fence post you hit and put a nice shine onto the rest of the area with out having to go to a body shop.

Try getting some good car wax and just polishing out the paint to start with; that might give you a better idea of the damage.

wash the area first to see if you have marked it, ifso a little t cut or your usual polish may be enough to clean the paint off. its easier for you to have ago with polish first as garages may just do this and tell you they had to buff it ect to bump thebill up.
