When you get a new car why is mileage not optimal. Why does it take a couple of tanks to get better mileage? Thanks!!!

All the parts are new and tight. It takes some time to wear them in and get things loose or free. So your mileage will improve once all the parts settle in. Good luck

When new everything is tight and needs to be worn in a bit. My car new got 25 MPG, at 25,000 miles it went to 27MPG. and at 35,000 it went to 28 MPG.
