I need to find out if the Trooper has a vacuum modulator or is it something electrical that makes the trooper shift. It won't shift from first into second. It will get up to about 15 to 20 mph and the RPM's go high, but won't shift. I have 234,000 miles. I have a friend who works on cars and thought that there should be a vaccum modulator on this car that makes it shift, but he couldn't find it. I was wonder, for him to fix my car, what makes it shift? Where would it be located, if a vacuum modulator or being electrical? It has him very frustrated & ME, since I am the one with no running car. He looked thru my book, which is a Haynes Isuzu pick-ups & Trooper book #47020, and couldn't find anything related to the problem. My friend took it for a drive and saids that it doesn't feel like slipage at all. What would be causing it not to be shifting?? PLEASE HELP!!

I am looking at purchasing a 1995 mustang. The car runs great, no slips in the transmission, no smoke, no burning oil smell, nothing bad that I can note of. We noticed that there was a small oil spot on the ground where the car was parked.

Is it something to be overly concerned about?

My blinkers don't blink, and when i hit the stick up or down, they don't even click nor does the arrow lights come on. When i hit my Emergency lights everything seems to be fine. Could it just be the flasher that I need to replace?

We just bought a Ford Escort ZX2 the other day. It's a 2001 with 61,000 miles on it. My uncle says the timing belt needs replacing between about 60,000 to 90,000 miles or something like that. The salesman said something about it not needing one until much later...like 120,000 miles or so. I'd just like to know which answer is right so I can know when it needs to be checked and replaced. Or are they both wrong and it's somewhere in between the two answers? Thanks.

ok i recently had a motor put in a 86 chevy 4x4 truck, it had a 305 and i had a 350 put in, the motor is carb, when the motor was changed he had to get a new intake manifold and valve covers, my valve covers that were on the 305 have the 4 bolts on the outside but now on the 350 they have 2 bolts down the center of the covers, with that being said is this motor really for a 88 and up model car, and if so isn't there a difference in flywheels, i thought the flywheels for 87 and below were one style and 88 and up were weighted flywheels, plz tell me if i am right, also what are some other ways i can tell what this motor is for, and one last question the motor has square ports and my headers are of course round, my header gasket should be sqaured not round correct, plz give me as much info as possible

I was going along when my engine started misfiring and it sounded like it was blown, making a terrible noise. I pulled over and shut it off and then started it again. It really sounded terrible and if I pushed the accelerator the knocking got really bad, leaving me to think the engine was gone, but a friend told me to check the coil pack and that might be my problem. Now my problem is,, How do I check it and if need be, how do I replace it? Is it very hard and is it expensive? Please help me

My 1999 Ford Explorer has just started squeaking when driving slow or when I get in and out of the car. This is my work car and I think I may have hit some major potholes in the last two weeks. Well, I KNOW I have accidentally hit some. We just had the ball joints replaced a month ago, I don't know if this is related to that issue, or if some type of spring or shock just gave out. Does anyone know what this squeakiness is?? It sounds like when you jump up and down on an old mattress. Thank you in advance...
