You'll need an air compressor and air chisel to remove the ball joints. They are riveted to the control arms and you need to grind the rivet heads off to remove them. The CV Axles are easy to do at the same time since you'll have to release them from the hub anyway by unscrewing the retaining nut to do the ball joints. They should just slide right out.

The best way to approach this is buying yourself a Hayne's or Chilton's repair manual. These books provide step by step procedure and pictures. You can get these at your auto parts store. It is good to have for future maintenance as well. Good luck.

well you'll need a hammer Iknow that much to beat them loose if they are real bad

you should be able to search the web and get details if not call a garage a friendly one and ask the mechanic the chevy dealer is who i call when my husband does something and they are more than happy to tell you

i call just so i can point the things out he's doing wrong HAHAHA
