Its a 1992 chevy truck with 185,000. I have not noticed any problem with the engine; runs smooth and has power. I check oil about every 2 weeks; it wasnot there then. After driving it I checked it again and it was barely noticeable on the dipstick.
If anyone thinks they know what it is please include if you think it is a minor or major problem and if I should do something immediately with the truck running good. Also noticed small air bubbles on the dipstick. Any thoughts?

I have often heard that Armor All will eventually lead to drying and cracking of a dashboard if not used regularly. Is that true? Or can I trust it to protect and shine my interior?

On my way home last night I lost all light, radio, brake, horn, and door power lock functions. The only thing that worked was the blinkers and the car drove like nothing was wrong. The interior and dash lights went out and the ABS light came on. I checked all the glovebox fuses and they are all good. What would cause this? Thank you in advance for any replys. Oh BTW its a 96 olds Ciera SL

Today is the coldest day we have had all winter. (With wind chill it is -7 degrees!!!) Today is also the day my heater and defroster decided not to do their jobs. Brrrrr. I turned on the defroster and in about a second or two all the INSIDE windows and rear view mirror immediately got frosted over and fogged up. I turned of the blower, pulled over and scraped the frost off. When I turned the blower on again....NOTHING!!! No noise, no blower, no heat, no defroster. Does anyone know what happened? Could I have ruined it because when I first turned on the blower I put the setting all the way to high right away? Thanks for your help with this. I'm not looking forward to my drive home from work today.

When i first tried to start it it just made a stuttering sound, a bit like it does when you normally start the engine but it wouldnt actually start. I did this a few times but I gave up and left it. I tried about an hour later and this time I tried putting my foot on the gas and the engine started. However, for a second, a big cloud of black smoke came out of the exhaust but it drove quite well. I thought it was ok but when I was on the motorway I thought I could feel it rumbling a bit. Does anyone have an ideas as to what it is?

I have a Ford 98 Explorer it has stopped working and my snap on scanner Mt2500 is telling me that code 1260 'Theft detected, disabled engine' is showing on the scanner. I have run this test through the Vin no. application on the scanner, I have tried to clear the code but no prevail.

I am getting spark and i have hooked the fuel pump up hot so the throttle body is getting fuel but it still won't start.

I also tried disconnecting the batter for 24 hours with hopes that the code went away this did no work either.

I have the original Key in the ignition and the Theft light flashes quickly as if it was a bad key or trying to be stolen. The Key is orginial from Ford and only one i Have. I was also wondering if anyon knows if these keys go bad. Or if anyone knows the proper name for the ring inside the steering column of key insertion that sends the signal to the PCM.

Any suggestions.

I have a 2000 Chevy Malibu LS with 134,300 miles on it.

I recently had a "tune-up" which involved changing out the plugs and wires. Does this increase the life of the car? What else can I do to increase the life of my car (besides belt changes, fluid flushes, oil changes, fuel filter and oil filter changes, and other routine maintenance)? I want this car to last until 200,000 or even beyond. The only problems I've had with it have been relatively minor (fuel pump needed changed and turn signals needed to be replaced which was on a recall and I had both done for free; something with the radiator pump or something the other needed to be replaced, which was just a $30 job; and I think that's all that's really gone wrong.)

It's FREEZING in my area and I'm worried that if the fluids in my engine are frozen and if I try to drive it to "warm it up", I'll end up like a guy I saw on the news whos car over heated and died out, so is there a way to defrost the liquids or do I seriously just have to wait it out?

The alternator on my brother's car died so I replaced it with an almost-new spare I had (we each have cars with the same series motor). If I were to take it to an auto parts store like Autozone or O'Reily, would they pay me the core value for it?

If not, then I'm just going to dumpster it.
