I have often heard that Armor All will eventually lead to drying and cracking of a dashboard if not used regularly. Is that true? Or can I trust it to protect and shine my interior?

Yes it will. Not to mention the oil in it attracts dust even faster. Just use a damp cloth to clean it and try to keep it away from direct sunlight when parked for a long time.

I work in a service department for a car dealership and I have heard basically every complaint possible. But, I have never heard about Armor-All causing drying and cracking on current model vehicles. I have been using this product for 4 years now and my interior looks great!

I used it exclusively on the vinyl when I bought my '91 Safari van. Nothing has cracked, and I rarely have the luxury of not parking in the full sun.

However, I agree that the oily residue allows dust and dirt to cling.

Nu-Vinyl seems to avoid this oil problem.

Yes, it causes the dash to crack if direct sunlight comes in contact with the dash. May take awhile but eventually it does create this problem of cracking the dash.
