Maintenance & Repairs - January 2007

So far I have replaced the water pump, belts, and thermosat. Plenty of fluid and it is flowing. The controls only work in certain positions. Like full fan and defrost only. Sometimes the fan just quits and then starts up again. Any ideas? Thanks

maintenance tune up: regular 60 now 35
-install new spark plugs
-visually inspect ignition wires, distributor cap/rotor, filters, and more
-set timing / adjust idle (if applicable)

my car has 90,000 and im not sure when the last time it had a tune up since we got it used 30,000 miles ago. I'm scared since it says they just look at stuff that if theres something wrong theyd just charge more

How long should I wait to wash my car after it has been painted? It was painted by the dealer then "heat baked" just wondering?

About two days ago a rock hit my windshield right in my line of vision! Now ive called several glass shops and they wont repair due to it being in my line of vision, any suggestions on getting it fixed its about the size of a quater. Now my 2nd question is can i still wash my car and not worry about water getting in? i drive a black car and it gets really dirty....

ok so when i try to start it, it sounds like it is turning over and sometimes it will even act like it will start but if i give it gas or dont give it gas it still just shuts off. it has a newer alternator in it so that shouldnt be the problem.

I was driving my Rover 25 car when I couldn't get 2nd or 4th gear. When I stopped I realised I couldnt get reverse gear either. I had to drive home in 1st and 3rd gear. Does anybody know what is wrong with the car before I take it to a garage.

My 1990 Honda Accord DX is getting close to reaching the 100,000 mile mark, is there anything special I need to do for my car to keep it in good shape? A friend of mine has a newer Honda and she said that she got some kind of special part for her Civic once it got up there in mileage.

the battery emptied several times (3 times since purchase 4.2006). we changed the battery the first time around. then it emptied again, so we had to jump start it. recently,when i start the car, i noticed difficulity in doing so as if there is not enough power in the battery to start the car! then, it seized to start at all several days ago; however, lights and all are still workiong fine. so later, i tried to jump start it AGAIN but it wont keep running what so ever (it would start but it stops right away). what do you think the problem is? is it electrical leakage? or some other problem? please help coz car dealers in this country are un trust worhty and a bunch of theives...i wish i was in the states...

oh by the way, i contacted the service manager and he claims that it must be my mistake (that i keep one of the lights on!!!). i havent taken it there yet. i will as soon as they pick it up.
