i have a 2001 chev xtreme that is lowered 2 inches in the front and 3 in the back or maybe it is the other way around... is there any way to get it back to its original height and about how much would this cost?

you need to put the original springs back in. they can usually be bought cheaply from the next dump yard. (right word? the place where you can buy pieces from crashed cars ).

maybe you have to replace the shock absorbers too, depending on what kind you have now. all in all not too expensive hardware wise, and a skilled mechanic should be able to do it in less than two hours.

You need to find out if it was done with lowered spindels or lowered sport springs. I don't think chevy utilizes torsion bars in the front. That is the quickest way, they just need to be tightened back up. The rear may just be bigger blocks between the leaf springs and the axle. You need to see if the axle sits on top or under the rear leaf springs. Best bet would be to take it to a truck accessory store or auto body shop and find out what was done to lower it first. That will tell you how much you are going to have to spend if it's something you can't do yourself.

First you need to find out what was done to lower the vehicle, was it done right? then find the original pieces either at a junk yard or the dealership. If some redneck did the job, did a lot of cutting and welding, and left you with the headache, good luck
