as in the subject line, i have a 2001 grand am, and i experience screeching noises when I use my brakes, and whining screechy noises (like an animal whining or something) when i turn my steering wheel. i'm getting my car checked soon as i'm about to hit the mileage for another oil change, but i was wondering if anyone knew what the problem might be. i THINK the screeching from the brakes might be because of my brake pads. i'd like to add that i am car-stupid, so please excuse any ignorance in this message. :)

Thanx ! When checking the dipstick it was way past the XXX's. The car just stopped on my way home from work. It was reving up so loud like a race car.I had to floor it just to get it to go. Then i went to climb the hill by my house and when pressin the gas to start up the hill all it did was rev up. So someone told me to pop off the hose that goes into the radiator from the transmission start the car and leak some fluid out that way. When I did this process nothing drained out. It won't go,or move in any gear. I wanted to thank u and Happy Holidays to you and your family!!!!!!

while driving electronic immobilizer comes on also oil pressure light, car cuts out power steering is lost until car is switched back on again happening quite regular smoke comming out of exhaust smells burning ...any idea what the problem is

automatic fuel injected civic 92 model...of lately i'm hearing a slight knocking sound in the engine .....what can be causing this...? apart from that i'm still faced with the trimbling problem with the engine during cruising speed.....i checked the spark plug pulling one by one plug wire out while the car is idling(On/running) doing that cost me alot....after pulling out one of the plug wire & putting it back the car started idling slow like it's about to cut off.... i decided to switch off & restart...well the car keeps tumbling & for nothing it wanted to start....by luck i had a friend with a vehicle like my own so we took out the distributor from HIS car & tried it....MY car started.....can anyone explain what cause the distributor to spoil in MY car...?

The Toyota Trekker is actually the Pre-4Runner that Toyota and Winnebago made before the 1984 4Runner was put into production. I have one complete but needs exterior and interior parts. Maybe you might know where I can get 1979 thru 1983 Toyota truck parts.

Recently I had the battery replaced in my 2003 sunfire. Prior to changing the battery, all my instrument panel lights and gauges worked. After the battery was changed, the lights work but the speedometer, gas gauge, etc. do not. The shop that replaced the battery looked over the vehicle and claim that nothing they could have done would have caused that. The fuses are all good. Any clue what might be wrong and how to determine so?

My car is a 2001 Mercury Sable, V-6 DOHC, has 65k plus miles.

my car gives what i call 1 or 2 "hiccups" while driving on a flat road at normal speed.my nephew says the transmission is going, another person said it`s probably the "kick down rod" People on here said it`s low on trans. fluid. Being female, I don`t want to be ripped off when I take the car in. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated. "slick" save ur goofy answer for someone else ty.

I own a 98 Taurus, I recently changed the thermostat on it and a couple of hoses but lately it has been acting up. It will completely turn off when it warms up usually when I come to a complete stop. and wont turn on until it cools down below normal. any advise?

It does just fine when its driving and air is hitting the radiator im not sure if the thermostat would cause that, also the water pump was replaced not too long ago

Hi all,

You may have read my previous question about my car but I am growing desperate. Here is the situation - The car hasnt started for more than a month now. The engine is fine (compression / valves / fuel injectors), the starter is fine. The fuel pump works, the distributer / alternator works. The computer diagnosis says the catalytic converter is bad, he tried disconnecting it and starting. no avail. My remote starter was disconnected, so that it is not the problem. The engine makes the cranking sound but doesnt start. My mechanic has tried everything. Nissan experts please help. one more question - what if my car doesnt ever start? can i sell it for parts? The sad part is that I am paying a high interest loan for it and also have comprehensive insurance. I am paying a huge amount of money every month for a car that doesnt work.

vortex high performance muffler,k&n air filter,and airaid throttle body spacer.I just bought a quadzilla stealth 2 tuner,I have all the high performance transmission settings done,the only thing that is over my head is the axel ratio, stock it's 237 I've tryed it on 373 and 410 but I don't know the right one it still hauls *** but I want to get it on a dead stop and floor it and smoke the **** out of the tires,I just don't want to put the wrong setting and do serious damage to my new truck! If there is someone who can give me some pointers and help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Jason
