guys i dont know what to say. i have a renault cleo 2003 model automatic transmission. ever since i changed the timing belt the vehicle has no pulling power what-so-ever. and i used to get so pissed and used to step really hard on the accelerator. ive done that a coupe of times and ever sice my gear box has gone for a toss. now everytime i step on the gas i hear a big grinding sound and the shift from 1st to second is hard and noisy. fortunately the 3rd, 4th and reverse gears are fine. Any insights to this predicament. i drive very slowly on the 1st and 2nd and then pick up speed on 3rd and 4th. im really hesitating to go to the garage because this will cost me a bomb in cash. any ideas?!!??

hello, I own a 1995 Nissan Altima and I am not sure which dipstick is motor oil, there is one that has a yellow handle (I suspect this is transmission fluid) that is in the center of the compartment just in front of the engine and behind the radiator, the other is red and just to the left of the battery. Im pretty sure that the red one is oil, but with my car "pretty sure" just doesent cut the mustard for me, lol.

I HAVE A 1980 GMC SEIRRA C2500 3/4 TON TRUCK WITH 2 WHEEL DRIVE THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED.
CURRENT MOTOR IS A GM REMANUFACTORURED 454CID 7.4 LITER , (NOT SURE ABOUT THE LITERS), HEAVY DUTY WITH EGR VALVE. CAN'T, LOCATE ENGINE MARKINGS?
WENT TO SMOG, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE EMMISSIONS DIAGRAM FOR A 454CID HD ENGINE WITH A EGR VALVE. CAN NOT SMOG UNTIL I FIND THE DIAGRAM. I AM A CAREGIVER AND THE INCONVIENENCE OF NOT HAVING MY TRUCK TO DRIVE IS ADVERSELY EFFECTING MY CLIENT. PLEASE, ENLIGHTEN ME!!!
HOW , CAN I CORRECTLY IDENTIFY MY ENGINE SIZE. AND, WHERE I CAN GET THE EMMISSIONS DIAGRAM.
ANY IMPUT ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. THE VIN ON THE TRUCK IS:
TCM24AJ506599 YES THAT IS ALL OF THE VIN APPARENTLY, PRE-1980 VECHILES HAD FEWER NUMBERS

I have a coolant leak in my 330i BMW with 65,000 miles. What could be wrong and how much could the repairs cost? I have a 1996 j-body sedan with a 2.2 engine. I have an external leak in my head gasket (leaking coolant), that apparently is not affecting compression and there is no coolant/oil mix. I narrowed down my choices to 2 main options for fixing it:

1. Have it fixed locally for about $1000 including gasket kit, resurfacing, labour and tax.

2. Have it fixed by a friend who is a Toyota tech for about $500 (parts/labour/tax). But I would need to drive the car for about 300 hwy kms, and would likely not be able to have the cylinder head resurfaced.

Any thoughts? Would also appreciate suggestions of other associated repairs/maintenance that I should consider (timing chain and tensioner were done 40,000km ago, coolant changed 10,000 km ago).

We have changed the water pump because it was leaking, and also installed two seperate thermostats trying to get it to heat up. also, removed the heater hose from the water pump to make sure we had a flow of water

is this and how much should I expect to pay to get it fixed? The car drives well and sounds fine, and the transmission fluid level is fine, so I don't think it's leaking that much. Thanks

I parked my car at the store about 2 weeks ago..... Came out and the car did not start. No clicks, nothing. Tried to jump it off and nothing happened. I went back the next day to try jumping it again... nothing.... but this time I left the jumper cables on for about 20 minutes. The car started up. No problems until 2 days ago. Stopped to get gas. Paid. Came back out and my car wouldnt start again. So I tried jumping it off for 20 minutes again and got nothing. I have a battery charger/tester and it says the battery is full and its good. Alternator was just replaced 2 months ago, so Im ruling that out as well. Cables are good. I checked ground wires already. It seems like something is draining the power. Because not only does it not start, but none of the lights or anything electrical is working. But occasionally it will get enough pwer to turn on the clock or a dome light when I open the door. So then I try to start it but nothing happens and everything shuts off again.

It should be as simple as changing a lightbulb.. and let me say that I hate that this makes me both feel and sound like a totally inept female, hate it. But I can't change the headlight on my car because the wire clip won't budge. It's a 2000 ford focus wagon (unfortunately).. any insights? No lihgts or gauges indicated the engine was hot until it was too late. Now the company is saying they are voiding the warrenty for not chaging the oil. They found no other issues...so they say.

i have a 1600cc rover 200 on a S plate with a nacked engine. i have a chance 1400cc engine out of a L plate rover 200. Will it just Swap straight in with no modiforcation, or will i have to change the engine mounts and ECU or other modiforcations.
