My 74 VW beetle overheated, the hole is too big for a Heli-coil.

Is there anything that works better than JB weld to get the spark plug to stay in?

I know that it's a jalopy rig, I'm just looking for something to make it run, not so much quality at that.

Thanks

I have a rubbing sound that seems to be coming from the right rear area when the car is in motion. It sounds like a low pitched scraping and it is still present when the engine off (if the car is being moved by pushing it). It is present at all speeds and seems to be on 75% of the time and off 25% of the time, and the intervals get faster as the car goes faster. I looked back there and I looked at the tire and didn't see any wear spots. What could it be?

I have a 2001 Chevy Tracker. What does the O2 sensor do and does it effect performance/gas mileage? Is it expensive to replace? Do you have any suggestions? Can I replace it myself? What does anyone know about this?

Recently, our 96 Dodge Caravan has developed an electrical problem. It started when I noticed that when we would open the drivers side door, the courtesy lights would not turn on. Didn't think a whole lot about it, the van has a 192,000 miles. I geuss if I had that many miles on me, my lights would flicker too.

But this week I was coming home in a rain storm and all of the interior lights started to flicker on/off while driving down the freeway. The "Door Ajar" indicator light kept coming on and the auto door locks kept locking/unlocking. The kids thought it was kinda funny and had a couple of good laughs.

Almost sounds like there is some kind of clicking sound coming from the headlight switch? Or from somewhere under the dash? Once the rain quit, the flickering quit.

The van runs great! I fully intend to put 250,000 miles on this thing, only because I can't afford a new one. Any ideas would be appreciated much!

Hi, I have a 2000 Mustang v6, and taday I took it out on a cross country trip. When I filled up the gas tank, it started to leak and I thought I had a hole in the tank. Later on, after a few more tries, it looked like the spill was due to overfill rather than leakage. Basically, the nozzle won't click off, it would just keep pumping. But, as the tank fills up, isn't it supposed to build pressure so that the pump will click off? What is going on here?

I have a 2005 camry solara. After i started the car, everything sounded normal, but when i tried to back up, and stepped on the accelerator, the car wont move...it only move very very slowly backward. I tried stepping on the brake but it was hard and stiff. so i put it on drive to go forward but i cant. The only way i could get the car to stop moving backward was by putting it on parking. Then the oil and battery check lights went on. after a while, i turned off the car and restart it and everything was fine. I am a new driver and i really dont know anything about cars. i was wondering if the problem with my car was something very serious and what was wrong with it? should i get someone to take a look at it?
