Recently, our 96 Dodge Caravan has developed an electrical problem. It started when I noticed that when we would open the drivers side door, the courtesy lights would not turn on. Didn't think a whole lot about it, the van has a 192,000 miles. I geuss if I had that many miles on me, my lights would flicker too.

But this week I was coming home in a rain storm and all of the interior lights started to flicker on/off while driving down the freeway. The "Door Ajar" indicator light kept coming on and the auto door locks kept locking/unlocking. The kids thought it was kinda funny and had a couple of good laughs.

Almost sounds like there is some kind of clicking sound coming from the headlight switch? Or from somewhere under the dash? Once the rain quit, the flickering quit.

The van runs great! I fully intend to put 250,000 miles on this thing, only because I can't afford a new one. Any ideas would be appreciated much!

it could be a bad door switch, the one that tells the dome light to turn on, kinda what i am gathering from your explination. ive had to read it a couple of times but either a door switch is bad or a door isnt shutting right, but the rain thingie makes me wonder. the clicking i can only relate to the door lock relay. but your gonna have to give me a day to think about this one as im laughing from thinking to hard

The insulation for the wiring to the RF door swap may well be worn by using, allowing the bare twine to touch the physique, for this reason ending up the floor circuit. that could desire to reason the sunshine to return on.
