it is a solid fan no clutch and yeah i would put shorter bolts in the pulley to keep it on the water pump to the person who says it will fly off u dork dodnt want to hear anything from people unless u have tried this

its a 78 f 150 the closest thing to a computer in it is my cell pone.....the fan sucks air through the raditor what else is it doing it doesent have a fuel rail too cool

ok first off the fan serves more than one purpose, it is for cooling, it also desperses the fumes coming from your truck so you only have a minimum amount entering the vehicle, and maintain a constant temperature through out important components such as your airsensors,and fuel rails. It could just be as easy to leave multiple fans like the ones used in computers boxing in the cooling system and able to shut them off in the winter if they were only used for the cooling system. If the parts are on the vehicle is because they serve more than one purpose keep that in mind next time someone tell you to take something out.

That wouldnt be a smart idea because you still have to regulate the heat, if you want to save some gas, change to a electric fan, it could save you a little for sure but if you take off the fan make sure you put some type of brace where the fan use to be because the pulley cant handle the stress

Sure, take your fan off, you'll definitly save money on gas and mileage as you sit on the side of the road with a overheated engine... you have got to be kidding

wont work the car will run hot and the belts wont stay on with out it the water cant circulate if someone told you to do this dont you will have big problems and it wont save gas
