If a person was involved in an accident and they did not have car insurance, will other insurance companies know? Like, if a person was trying to get car insurance on a different car, will that insurance company know about the accident, or is it not on record?

In the next week or so, I can go for my license here in NWT, Canada. My mother has a vehicle sitting in her yard, it's good working condition, but she can't drive it because her license expired, so she has to wait for a few months to get it back... its a stupid new rule here in NWT. Well, anyways, I would like to get her truck on the road again, but I need to get the insurance and registration. Can it still be in her name? Even though she doesn't have her license yet. Or does it have to be in my name? If so, how do I go about it? She doesn't have to sign the vehicle to me, does she?

Thanks.

without going to the police. A man driving a car almost ran me off of the road as he overtook me. Even though I did manage to get his reg number, there would be no point of reporting this incident as the were no witnesses.

I got hurt in a wreck last week that was not my fault - the insurance of the car that crashed into me is assuming responsiblity. At first I thought I had no injuries, and told their insurance that I thought I was unhurt. Then a few days later when I was talking to them about the car damages, I mentioned that my neck had been hurting. They said "we'll send you a check for $100" I said that would be nice. I've never been in a car wreck before. I feel very naive about this. Over the next few days, my neck REALLY began to hurt. Very very much. I never go to the doctor about anything, but I am going to have to if this goes on. I phoned the insurance and got an answering machine and left a message saying I was in a lot of pain now. They didn't reply. What should I do? I'm worried because I said OK when they said they would send me a check. I think $100 will not even cover one doctor's appointment. Anyone with any experience or advice to offer - please help! Thanks in advance, Kali

Do I have to accept this offer? The blue book value of my 2000 pontiac grand prix is 8,400 (only 66,000 miles) and my insurance company has offered me 5,400 for the car. The car was totaled. I need to sign the title over to the insurance company, but haven't done that as I feel that is the only leverage I have in this matter. They claim that the car was totaled once before and that is why they reduce the amount to 5,400. I have a clean title and nobody ever indicated that it was totaled out. The car was a great car and I never had a problem with the car. The car looked great and ran great. How do i get my insuranccompany to pay me the fair amount?

He was in center lane, then turned right...into me, so it should be his fault. My car is a 1997 Saturn. They want to total it. I was just wondering what I can do. All I really want is for them to fix it, to have a rental paid for while it is being fixed and to just move on from this. My car is worth (blue book value) $2575, but online the cheapest I could find is ~$6500 for the same car. Repairs from their estimate are $1780, but then an added expense of rental would be included. I don't want to be stuck with a damage car and no money to fix it. Any help would be great!! Thanks

I was pulling up to a left turn lane to make a turn and the light was red so I pulled up behind the car in front of me like anyone else would. I came to a complete stop. (Normal stop as I was going the right speed limit) The car behind me completely not paying attention rear ends me which caused me to rear end the stopped car in front of me. Am I going to be at fault for the injuries and damage in the car in front of me since I hit her from being rear ended or will all the responsibility and fault go to the driver behind me? I am just worried because the lady I hit was pregnant and she hit her stomach on the steering wheel. Please only experienced advice apply?

I don't own my car, so instead of giving me the cash value of the car, the insurance company will the pay the remainder i owe to the dealership and take the car away. This doesn't sound right to me because the wreck wasn't my fault and yet I end up losing my car while the other party had no damage to his car. I get penalized for doing nothing wrong, is there anything I can do?

A friend of mine wants to buy a car in Houston, Texas, but she doesn't have a U.S. driver's license? Can she buy a car? She has an international driver's license.

Can a person take the behind the wheel driver's test in Texas using a rental car?

Does anyone out there know? Thanks!

He stopped communication with us, we are "too strict". He lives with his mom, she let him drop out of his Junior year in high school, buys his cigars & cigs, lets him stay the night w/girlfriend, and now we find out he is driving. No permit, no license, tag off another car, no insurance no nothing. If he has an accident, can the Father be held liable for any of the damages. They have joint custody. I don't want to loose my home over the stupid mother letting him do these things
