i have a 72 charger and i was wondering if i was to take off the air conditioning from my motor would my car go faster then before?

Just curious to see if anybody here has ever seen,or remembers one. I have seen a few up close,and I think they are unique.I can see why NASCAR eventually outlawed them for racing back in the day. Along with it's sibling the 1970 Plymouth Superbird.They were
the racer's choice back then, I'm told.

this is a sad story... I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 club cab, 4X4, 5.9L Magnum V8, 8' bed, SLT Laramie features, the HD tow package beautiful truck, i decided to get my oil changed and was working 12 hrs a day 7 days a week so i had it changed at the first place i could get into fast. walmart oil change.... they did the job and less then a month later im driving home from work and the engine sounds like metal to metal. I added a quart of oil just to get home to do repairs. once home i did a complete engine flush with fresh oil and filter, drained, and replaced. i have a horrible knocking noise and figure its a rod knock. im at a toss up whether i should sell my beloved truck, or have it repaired. To put in a used engine will cost me $1500-2000 (which i cant afford until summer comes back around and im back to working construction). I decided to post on craigslist (sobbing badly on the wifes shoulder) could it be its not a rod knock? landlord is gonna tow it...what should I do?

I just bought this van 3 weeks ago and it started not wanting to shift up or down. I checked fluid level and it was a bit over the line so it was full. The RPMs would go up and up and the van would go no faster then WAM slam into gear and when i had 2 stop it would die on me completely, but it would restart. It continues to do this so i have left it sitting. The car lot I got it from said it would take care of it but, they haven't. So I am wondering how do i fix it or see what needs to be fixed if I dont have the money to have it repaired

i was told by trans specialist that the bands for 3rd gear sometimes come loose and fall out into the trans pan. i'm having problems with 2nd not engaging. maybe that happened to my 2nd gear?

ok i bought headers for my 72 dodge charger and it's to big and not enough room for it? my question is my dad told me to put back the stock manifold and to put side pipes and cut off the muffler and that would make my car sound loud. is this true and also what could i do to make my car sound loud?
