Just curious to see if anybody here has ever seen,or remembers one. I have seen a few up close, and I think they are unique.I can see why NASCAR eventually outlawed them for racing back in the day. Along with it's sibling the 1970 Plymouth Superbird. They were
the racer's choice back then, I'm told.

Yes indeed, I personally saw them race at Michigan Raceway in 1969. Buddy Baker, Bobby Isacs, (Harry Hide Crew chief) while Richard Petty and Pete Hamilton -- (I think) drove the Superbirds. My neighbor Geoff Bodine won a new Superbird from the Genny. Brewing Company in 69. It was white with the 440 wedge engine and could bypass 150 mph.in short order

I remember an orange Superbird sitting on a dealer's floor in the Bronx. Seems a customer ordered it, and didn't take delivery. An impossibly impractical car for the city, it must have been on there for two years.

Not only have I seen one, I have driven one. I still prefer the Shelby GT500KR, though. I guess I'm just a Ford guy.
