OK well all the people who answered this previously don't have a freaking clue. the battery is located below the air filter housing on the passenger side of the vehicle. you will have to remove the shield in the wheel well to remove the battery. you will have to remove the air cleaner to access the top mount battery posts and the hold down attachments. if anyone tells you anything else other than this, they are wrong as i have worked in a Chrysler/dodge dealership for 15 years as the head technician, and service manager. hopefully this helps. P.S. you do not have to remove the wheel to access this, only turn it all the way in one direction to remove battery. i recommend to the right, but i have seen it done turned all the way to the left also. good luck

Correct...it is on the passenger side. I had a 2001 Intrepid and I changed mine. The battery might also have a battery warmer wrapped around it if you have the optional cold weather engine/battery warmer. Easy way to know...you will have an electrical plug under your hood in front of the right strut tower. The battery warmer just pulls right off, though, so no problem. I doubt you need a new battery yet, it should be a 72 month battery.

Tony is correct. The battery is on the passenger side of the car, buried under the air filter housing. So far, I have been lucky and haven't had to pull mine out. You can get to the terminals for maintenance by removing the air filter housing. It looks like it might be possible to remove the battery that way too, without pulling the plastic from the wheel well. I haven't tried it yet, and don't plan on it until I need to, but getting the battery out is not that difficult. What is difficult is changing that serpentine belt with so little clearance. I'm really not looking forward to that.

that is in a compartment in front of the driving force's section front tire. Jack up automobile, do away with the front wheel, and there's a plastic panel with a photo of a battery on it. you will locate possibly 6 conserving clips, turn them counter-clockwise to launch, and attempt against that undesirable boy out of there. It additionally explains it on your proprietor's instruction manual. I only replaced the battery in my 2000 Stratus on Sunday.

Is forward of either the right or left front tire. Behind the headlight. Under allot of plastic, that hides it. Best way to get to it, is the wheel well. If I remember right, is in front of the driver's side wheel.

it's kinda under the car on the drivers side. i think you can get to it by jacking it up and removing the fender splash shield. look for the caps under the hood with the (+) and (-) on them and follow the battery cables.
chrysler really messed up.
