I have a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager. It hiccups. By this, I mean it loses all power for a fraction of a second. It is as if the battery and alternator had been removed for a fraction of a second. It may go a few hundred miles without doing this and it may do it several times in one mile. If this happens while stopped or going very slow, the motor will die and you will have no power steering. You can immediately shift to “neutral” and start the engine and it will run fine. When this happens while going fast, say 70 MPH on freeway in Cruise Control, the speedometer will head to zero, but before it gets there the engine will restart and everything will be back to normal except cruise control will be off. You cannot get back to cruise by pressing “resume”. You must first turn Cruise on, get to desired speed and press “Set”. Sometimes the “Check Engine” light will come on after one of these hiccups. It will go off after a start or two. It has a code 12 (Battery input to PCM disconnected during last 50 key starts) which stays stored. Sometimes, after the “Check Engine” light comes on , it will temporarily store either a code 13 or 54. I have had the Cam position sensor replaced, but I doubt the old one was defective. What could cause this? Thanks

Ok. I have a 2003 Dodge quad cab with a long bed. Its a 2500 Heavy Duty with the 5.7 Hemi in it. About 2 months ago I went and had the stock muffler removed and had a 40 series flowmaster put on it. Instead of having them put the tail pipe back I just had them dump it. I took it to jiffy lube to get the oil changed and I asked the guy if it would pass inspection and he said no because you have to have a tail pipe. Is that true?? I thought as long as it didn't emit too much pollution it would pass. Everything else is the same. It still has the cat they welded the flowmaster on there really good. They used the stock hangers so its not going anywhere. Why would it matter if its going out the back or not??? Thanks

I got another motor put into my van which eventually (after less than 6 months) began knocking very loudly, so they replaced it again. It's a 3.0 liter V6 engine. Now this one has begun knocking not as loud for the first 6 minutes after you start it. They told me my year and model van tends to blow its engine easily. Is that true? This one only has about 72,000 miles on it. I thought Dodge was a good brand of vehicle. Please help, thanks!

I have a 1986 Dodge 600 Convertible 2.2L naturally aspirated [NON-TURBO]. Basically a K-Car same thing as a Lebaron or Aries really. The car has 82,000km on it & I use Valoline Conventional 10w-30 in summer & 5w-30 & sometimes Valvoline Maxlife of the same grade but conventional. I change the Oil every 5,000km. Is it ok for the car to use Syntehtic Oil. I've heard some people say that older cars oil leaks through the gasket. Also this car has never had the engine rebuilt it in the original from the factory and I am the 3rd owner within the family.
