Here in the land of bio diesel and ethanol, We get great returns with Soy bio diesel as it burns cleaner gives more power and the engines last twice as long than if ran on regular diesel as they do not carbon up inside and the motor oil stays cleaner
The advantage of a renewable source of energy is that we will not have to import as much oil to power our vehicles. The corn that makes the ethanol leaves a very valuable Animal feed called corn gluten. in essence we sell the corn twice.

. Search the web for Bio fuel conversion kits, there is a great deal of information out there. Don't know where in the world you are situated as average ambient temperatures do have to be taken into consideration when choosing the conversion kit to fit. I am in the UK and run a mixture of 75% veg oil and 25% diesel oil with no problems at all(summer months) During the winter I adjust the mixture to a 50/50 mix. I have made no alterations or fitted any kit at all, I do however change the cam belt at half the recommended milage as veg oil being thicker than diesel oil, places a greater strain on the cam belt.

here is a better question. why are we not converting to e-85 and bio-diesel!!!! burns so clean, there are virtually no emissions. higher octane which means it burns cleaner, more efficiently, thus producing more power. oh, diesel engines need to be slightly modified to run on veggie oil

You are right... Diesel invented the engine using vegetable oil for fuel. So why not?

they do it's called bio diesel.(made from soybeans) the problem is you have to put energy into it to produce it . basically it is more money to produce than making it from oil. if it was cheaper they would be doing more of it. it's just like ethanol it takes 3 times the energy to produce than what you get out of it. it's the dirty little secret of it all.

because oil is cheap. This is why ethonal isnt a good fuel. You can make much more money refining 1 barrel of oil then you can by growing ethonal.
