i have a 2000 dodge dakota and i was wonderin if i can swap the 3.9 to a 5.2 and will the tranny from the 3.9 bolt to the 5.2

Since the 5.2 was an option, there shouldn't be any problem bolting in the engine. The same transmission was behind the V6 and V8, so no problem there either. The problem will be with the electronics. Before I started on such a project, I would be sure the V6 wiring was compatible with the V8 conversion.

go to dakota-durango.com lots of good info on this, it would probably be more cost effective to just buy the V-8 truck instead of swapping in the 5.2

yes an yes. its virtually a straight replacement.only issue is with electronics,theyd should hook up but youll prolly have to have the computer reprogrammed for the v-8 ( unless the v-8 has its computer availible)

dodgedakotas.com can help with this, but from what I know our transmission is weak, and the v8 will tear it up.
